CROSS COUNTRY: Green Valley boys take top three spots to win Southeast meet

Green Valley’s boys cross country team had the top three finishers Wednesday en route to victory in a Southeast League meet at Cornerstone Park.
Austin Rogers won the 3.1-mile race in 16 minutes, 20.8 seconds. Lenny Rubi was second in 16:57.5, just ahead of teammate Robert Lovelady (16:58.9).
The Gators finished with 23 points. Coronado was second with 55, and Basic took third with 58.
Basic’s Steven Birch was fourth in 17:24.1, with Coronado’s Xavier Cummins was close behind in 17:24.3.
Clark claims Sunset League meet
At Villlage Green, Clark had two of the top four finishers and won a Sunset League meet.
The Chargers had a team score of 31, to edge second-place Faith Lutheran (38). Pahrump Valley was third with 99.
Faith Lutheran’s Chase Wood won the 3.1-mile race in 17:45, one second ahead of Clark’s Flimon Fre.
Pahrump’s Bryce Odegard was third in 17:49.
Clark’s Yoseph Siferaw took fourth in 18:01.
GIRLS
Crusaders win Sunset League meet
At Village Green, Kendall Larson won a 3.1-mile race in 21:47, and teammate Eryn McCoy was fifth in 23:03 to lead Faith Lutheran to a Sunset League meet win.
The Crusaders had a team score of 33. Clark was second with 55, and Pahrump Valley was third with 89.
Cheyenne’s Jazmine Moore placed second in 22:05.
Western’s Patti Ramirez took third in 22:18, and Clark’s Marisa Black was fourth in 22:34.
Cougars roll to Southeast League win
At Cornerstone Park, Coronado had six of the top seven finishers to easily win a Southeast League meet.
The Cougars had a team score of 17. Green Valley was second with 51, followed by Foothill with 68.
Coronado’s Tristan Sanders won the 3.1-mile race in 21:01.5, with teammates Danielle Greene (21:12.1) and Samantha Conaway (21:14.3) taking the next two spots.
Green Valley’s Sara Braverman was fourth in 21:15.9.
