Herrera, Liberty girls coast past Sundevils

Kayla Herrera won a 3.1-mile race in over a minute to help Liberty’s girls cross country team to a 24-32 win at Eldorado on Tuesday.

Eldorado’s Gaby Vazquez was second in 22:29, followed by Liberty’s Elizabeth Noel (22:39) and Briana Padilla (23:15).

Liberty took six of the top seven spots on the way to a 20-40 win at Eldorado.

Eldorado’s Eddie Esquivel won the race in 15:59, but the Patriots took the next six spots.

Colin Schultz led the Liberty charge, finishing in 16:23.
