Nevada high school state championships aren’t exclusive to just teams in the Silver State. Six out-of-state schools compete athletically for state titles against Nevada schools.
On Aug. 17, new seasons will start for high school sports teams in nine fall sports across the state. The recent realignment process has made some changes to the leagues.
Here is the 2022 Nevada Preps All-Southern Nevada boys cross country team
The Shadow Ridge boys won the Class 5A state cross country meet at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday. The Bishop Gorman boys and Desert Oasis girls won in 4A.

Northern schools won all six of the Class 5A, 4A and 2A/1A state cross country championships. Foothill’s Nathan Carlin and Moapa Valley’s Cyrus Hatch won individual races.
The Bishop Gorman boys and Desert Oasis girls claimed their first cross country state championships at the Class 4A meet Friday.
Mwani Wilkinson, a 6-foot-6-inch senior swingman, committed to LSU on Saturday. He’s averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds and 3.5 blocks for Bishop Gorman this season.
The Centennial boys claimed their second straight Class 4A state championship, while the Coronado girls earned their second crown in school history.

Nicholas held off hard-charging Massimiliano Swenson of Bishop Gorman to become Desert Oasis’ first region cross country champion. The Diamondbacks also won the boys region team title, another first in school history.
