ROUNDUP: Abbott paces Eldorado boys in win

Collin Abbott won a 2.5-mile race in 14 minutes, 24 seconds to lead Eldorado’s boys cross country team to victory in a three-team meet Wednesday at North Las Vegas Golf Course.
The Sundevils’ Anthony Chavez was second in 15:14, just ahead of Las Vegas’ Lino Rubio, who finished with the same time.
Eldorado won with 30 points, followed by Las Vegas (39) and Canyon Springs (63).

Panthers place four of top five in win
At Cheyenne, Eric Vanderstelt claimed a first-place finish in 15:01 on a 2.59-mile course as Palo Verde claimed four of the top five finishers en route to 18 points and a win.

Cheyenne (63) was second, followed by Mojave (67) and The Meadows (76).
Palo Verde’s Nick Cobb finshed second in 15:15, edging Cheyenne’s Taikye Wright-Brown by two seconds.

Wilson leads Mustangs to victory
At Cimarron-Memorial, Kyle Wilson won on a 2.8-mile course in 14:44 to lead Shadow Ridge to victory in a three-team meet.

The Mustangs had 19 points. Faith Lutheran was second with 51 points, and Cimarron took third with 68.
Faith Lutheran’s Anthony Ponticello was second in 15:38, followed by Shadow Ridge’s Justin Graf in 15:41.

Depth leads Grizzlies to win
At Clark, Spring Valley used its depth to capture a three-team meet.

The Grizzlies had a team score of 31. Sierra Vista was second with 43, and Clark took third with 46.
Clark’s Basabose Bahati won the 3-mile race in 17:00. Sierra Vista’s Eddie Meneses came in second in 17:30, and teammate Davaub Price finished third in 17:35.

McMillan leads Vikings to win
At Desert Pines, Alec McMillan won a 3.1-mile race in 17:57 to lead Valley to the victory in a three-team meet.

Valley, which had eight of the top 11 finishers, won with 22 points. Sunrise Mountain was second with 62, followed by Desert Pines at 76.
Desert Pines’ Antonio Walker was second in 18:41, and Valley’s Dawson Drake took third in 18:56.
 
Gorman uses depth to take three-team meet
At Bonanza, Weston Reisch’s third-place time of 19:12 helped the Gaels place four of the top six en route to 28 points and the win.
 
Bonanza was second with 48, and Pahrump Valley was third with 61.
 
Bonanza’s Mike Clements won the 3.1-mile race in 18:40, followed by teammate Logan Epperson in 18:51.
