ROUNDUP: Arbor View boys cross country claims three-team meet

Greg Marschik led a parade of Arbor View boys to the finish line Tuesday as the Aggies defeated host Sierra Vista and Desert Oasis in a cross country meet.
 
Marschik won the 2.5-mile race in 13 minutes, 34 seconds. Teammates Blaise Hill (14:06) and Conor Gallagher (14:30) took second and third, respectively.
 
The Aggies had a team score of 19. Sierra Vista was second with 43, followed by Desert Oasis with 83.

Shadow Ridge breezes to win
At Deer Springs Park, Sam Mahar held off teammate Jon Clark for first place as Shadow Ridge took the top three spots and breezed past Eldorado and Adelson School.

 
Mahar won the 2.75-mile race in 15:29, two seconds faster than Clark. Teammate Ian Cattanach was third in 15:43.
 
Shadow Ridge had a team score of 17. Eldorado was second with 87, followed by Adelson with 163.
 
GIRLS
Arbor View sweeps to win
At Sierra Vista, Arbor View took the top five spots en route to a perfect score of 15 and a victory over Sierra Vista and Desert Oasis.
 
Kourtney Willey and Andrea Gonzales each finished in 17:08 to lead the Aggies.
 
Sierra Vista and Desert Oasis each finished with 61 points. The Mountain Lions won the tiebreaker by virtue of a better sixth-runner score.

Shadow Ridge runs past Eldorado
At Deer Springs Park, Michelle Schenck led eight Shadow Ridge runners among the top nine finishers, winning a 2.75-mile race in 18:29 to pace the Mustangs to a win in a meet with Eldorado and Adelson School.

 
The Mustangs had a team score of 18. Eldorado had 82. Adelson School didn’t field a full team.
 
Mallory Reese of Shadow Ridge was second in 18:38. Eldorado’s Claudia Gonzalez took third in 19:00.
