ROUNDUP: Brown, Cheyenne boys sprint past Pahrump Valley

Tevin Brown covered a 2.6-mile course in 15 minutes, 24 seconds Tuesday, leading Cheyenne’s boys cross country team past visiting Pahrump Valley, 19-37.
The Desert Shields’ Daniel Ludwig was secnod in 15:28, with teammate Xavone Charles third in 15:42.
Alex Perez was the only Trojan to finish in the top five. He finished fifth in 16:33.
Aggies sweep top five spots
At Sierra Vista, Cole Jones won a 2.5-mile race in 14:32 and led Arbor View to a 15-50 win over Sierra Vista.
The Aggies’ Harrison Kelley was second in 14:40, nine seconds ahead of teammate Jordan Comish.
Diamondbacks top Gaels
At Bishop Gorman, Desert Oasis took the top three spots on the way to a 22-33 victory over the Gaels.
Frankie Martinez won the 3.1-mile race in 18:17, followed by teammates T.J. Ness (19:24) and Sam Jimenez (19:24).
Wildcats run unopposed, top Gators
At Las Vegas, Hector Ortega-Torres won a 3.1-mile race in 18:36 and the Wildcats topped Green Valley, which didn’t attend the meet.
GIRLS
Aggies pack way to victory
At Sierra Vista, Arbor View’s top four finishers all came across the line within the span of one second as the Aggies cruised to a victory against Sierra Vista, which did not field a full team.
Zanae Jones won the race in 18:02, the same time as teammate Kayla Landau. Karli Miller and Madison Fletcher both finished in 18:03.
Pahrump Valley tops Cheyenne
At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields’ Jazmine Moore won a 2.6-mile race in 18:52, but the Desert Shields didn’t have enough runners to post a team score, and lost to Pahrump Valley.
Cheyenne’s Jasmine Buchanan was second in 18:57, followed by Pahrump Valley’s Kayla Skilling in 19:44.
Locey, Diamondbacks top Gaels
At Bishop Gorman, Brooke Locey won the 3.1-mile race in 20:39 to lead Desert Oasis to a 23-32 victory over the Gaels.
Gorman’s Meaghan Boland was second in 22:48, and Desert Oasis’ Aria Paxton and Alexandra Myers each finished in 23:42 to take the next two spots.
Ortega-Dominguez wins race
At Las Vegas, Sharon Ortega-Dominguez won a 3.1-mile race in 23:30 as the Wildcats beat Green Valley, which did not have a runner at the meet.
