ROUNDUP: Carter, Braxton finish a second apart, lead Bulldogs to win

Jackson Carter won a close 3.1-mile race in 17 minutes, 10 seconds Wednesday to lead Centennial’s boys cross country team to victory in a home meet.

Carter finished one second ahead of teammate Dajour Braxton, who took second in 17:11, and two ahead of Desert Oasis’ Frankie Martinez, who was third in 17:12.

Centennial won with 18 points. Desert Oasis was second with 45 points, and Adelson School didn’t post a team score.

Wright, Spartans win three-team meet
At Cimarron-Memorial, Seth Wright won a 2.5-mile race in 14:13 to lead the Spartans (19 points) past Bishop Gorman (37) and The Meadows (no team score).

Cimarron’s Nicolas Gonzalez was second in 14:22, and teammate Ricardo Ixta took third in 15:28.

Marshall, Falcons beat Dragons
At Foothill, Brian Marshall won a 2.5-mile race in 14:59.2 to lead the Falcons to a 15-50 victory over Del Sol.

Foothill claimed the top 10 individual spots.

Jesse Dalton was second in 15:01.7, and Arie Dennis took third in 15:12.

Depth leads Skyhawks past Wildcats
At Las Vegas, Silverado had six of the top eight finishers on its way to a 25-34 victory over the Wildcats.

Las Vegas’ Hector Ortega-Torres won the 3.1-mile race in 17:13, followed by Las Vegas’ Miguel Ramirez in 17:22 and Silverado’s Jonathan Aman in 17:36.

Ekanger, Cougars down Patriots
At Liberty, Alan Ekanger won a 3.1-mile race in 17:06.9 as Coronado rolled to a 19-44 victory over the Patriots.

Liberty’s Colin Schultz took second in 17:19.3, and Coronado’s Mark Hickey was third in 18:03.2.

Ponce, Roadrunners take three-team meet
At Tech, Martin Ponce won a 3.1-mile race in 17:53 as the Roadrunners captured a three-team meet.

Tech had 23 points. Boulder City was second with 43, and Chaparral took third with 68.

Zack Zimdars finished second in 18:28, and Boulder City’s Chandler Hawkins was third in 19:03.

Fyock, Gators top Vikings
At Pecos Legacy Park, Tyler Fyock won a 3.1-mile race in 19:05 to lead Green Valley to a 15-50 victory over Valley.

Green Valley’s Jesse Rodgers was second in 19:28, and teammate Michael Patrino took third in 19:37.

Oberdin leads Mustangs past Aggies
At Floyd Lamb Park, Nick Oberdin won a 2.9-mile race in 15:56 to lead Shadow Ridge to a 15-50 victory over Arbor View.

Shadow Ridge’s David Peters was second in 16:01, and teammate Steven Roundy took third in 16:11.
