Roundup: Centennial races to victory

Centennial had the top three finishers and four of the top six Thursday to easily win a boys cross country race at Floyd Lamb Park.

The Bulldogs had 23 points to top the nine-team field. Arbor View was second with 53, and The Meadows took third with 94. Eldorado (112) was fourth, followed by Bonanza (122), Rancho (177), Desert Pines (193), Canyon Springs (202) and Founders Academy (255).

Centennial’s Adam Ganz won the 3-mile race in 16 minutes, 58 seconds. Teammates Brighton McDonald (17:40.6) and Noah Karnafel (17:52.5) finished second and third.

Foothill wins eight-team meet

At Cornerstone Park, Justin Neubeck won a 2-mile race in 10:56.8 and helped Foothill capture an eight-team meet.

The Falcons finished with 36 points. Clark was second with 51. Tech edged Liberty for third on the sixth-runner tiebreaker after both had 86 points. Green Valley (91) was fifth, followed by Sandy Valley (181), Desert Oasis (219) and SLAM Academy (227).

Liberty’s Ryan Gilbert finished second in 11:05.7, and Foothill’s Nathan Carlin was third in 11:16.8.
