ROUNDUP: Clark High’s big finish nets first place in boys cross country meet
Clark had three runners finish within a second of each other, taking second, third and fourth places to help the Chargers win a four-team boys cross country meet at Cheyenne on Wednesday.
Legacy’s Zac Ipson won the 2.25-mile race in 12 minutes, 48 seconds. Second through seventh place in the race were separated by three seconds.
Clark’s Jordan Kofford took second in 12:57, the same time as teammate Troy Goudge. Jake Naylor was fourth at 12:58, the same time as fifth-place Ryan Bartholomew of Faith Lutheran.
The Chargers had a team score of 25. Legacy was second with 52, followed by Faith Lutheran (61) and Cheyenne (73).
Green Valley’s Kim edges Boulder City’s Lundgren
At Del Sol, Green Valley junior Julius Kim edged out Boulder City’s Matt Lundgren for first place and helped the Gators win a three-team meet.
Kim and Lundgren both had a time of 12:51 on the 2.4-mile course. Green Valley’s Jason Ferraro was third in 13:36.
The Gators had a team score of 27. Boulder City was second with 48, with Del Sol third at 55.
Sneed, Gray finish one-two at Canyon Springs
At Canyon Springs, the Pioneers’ John Sneed and David Gray took the first two spots, but Indian Springs won the team competition.
Sneed finished the 2.8-mile race in 17:40. Gray was second in 19:20.
Indian Springs had a team score of 28. Canyon Springs finished with 31.
Williams, Hartle lead Centennial
At Centennial, Nathan Williams and Nick Hartle took two of the top three spots as Centennial edged Shadow Ridge with 30 points.
The Mustangs were second with 36, and Moapa Valley was third at 66.
Williams won the 2.6-mile race in 13:07. Shadow Ridge’s Sammy Mahar (13:19) was second and Hartle (13:38) third.
