ROUNDUP: Durango boys, girls blitz to wins

Matt Shelton led the way Thursday as Durango's boys cross country team had the top five finishers and won a four-team meet at Desert Breeze.
 
Durango had the minimum team score of 15. Desert Oasis took second with 48, followed by Virgin Valley with 79 and Western with 93.
The Trailblazers’ Matt Shelton won the 2.5-mile race in 13:48, followed by teammates Nick Ruiz (13:59) and Kevin Nitta (14:03).
 
Depth leads Durango girls to win
At Desert Breeze, Durango had four of the top five finishers to win a four-team meet.
Desert Oasis’ Bianca Vasilica won the 2.5-mile race in 17:19, followed by Durango’s Austin Martines (18:36) and Skye Lucksinger (19:02).
Durango won with 21 points, followed by Desert Oasis (46), Western (90) and Virgin Valley (94).
