ROUNDUP: Lewis, Shelton lead Durango boys to win

Durango’s Donovan Lewis and Matt Shelton took the top two spots on Tuesday to lead the Trailblazers to victory in a four-team meet at Sonata Park.

Lewis won the 2.8-mile race in 16 minutes, 31 seconds. Shelton (16:36) was second and Coronado’s Gariett Odell (16:44) third.

Durango finished first with 26 points, followed by Coronado (38), Faith Lutheran (66) and Desert Pines (120).

Centennial takes four of top five spots to win
At The Meadows, Centennial had four runners finish in the top five as the Bulldogs took first place with 16 team points.

Foothill had the only other complete team and scored 45 points.

Centennial’s Nathan Williams won the 2.6-mile race in 15:19.8.

Arbor View takes four-team meet
At Arroyo Grande Park, Arbor View runners took the third, fourth, fifth and sixth spots to help the Aggies win a four-team meet.

The Aggies had a team score of 35. Green Valley was second with 46, followed by Liberty (49) and Cimarron-Memorial (96).

Liberty’s Al Galen won the 3.1-mile race in 16:57, five seconds faster than Green Valley’s Julius Kim. Arbor View’s Andy Nelson was third in 17:15.
