ROUNDUP: Mitchell leads Durango boys’ sweep

Durango’s Jaime Mitchell placed first, and the Trailblazers took the top seven spots Monday to win a four-team boys cross country meet at Desert Breeze.
Mitchell won the 2.4-mile race in 12 minutes, 42 seconds. Teammates Matt Shelton (12:49) and Nick Ruiz (13:30) took the next two spots.
Durango had a team score of 15. Bishop Gorman was second with 60, followed by Western with 74.
GIRLS
At Desert Breeze, Durango took four of the top five spots and cruised to victory in a four-team meet.
The Trailblazers’ Stacie Mitchell won the 2.4-mile race in 15:32, followed by teammate Brooklyn Dulgar in 16:53. Western’s Lourdes Hernandez was third in 17:24.
Durango had a team score of 20. Western (55) nosed out Bishop Gorman (56) for second.
