ROUNDUP: Rising, Tech win boys meet

Tech’s Chris Rising edged Virgin Valley’s Sam Sylvester for first place to lead the Roadrunners to victory in a three-team meet at Tech on Wednesday with 21 points.

Rising won the 2.5-mile race in 13:48, three seconds ahead of Sylvester. Green Valley was second with 48 points. Virgin Valley had 76.

Galen leads Liberty
At Basic, Al Galen placed first individually to lead Liberty to a first-place finish in a three-team meet.

The Patriots finished with 32 points. Boulder City was second with 40 and Basic third at 50.

Galen won the 3-mile race in 16:05, edging Boulder City’s Matt Lundgren who was second in 16:07.

Boucher, Rancho run past Eldorado
At Canyon Springs, Antonio Boucher finished first and helped Rancho defeat Eldorado, 19-71.

Boucher won the 2.8-mile race in 17:33. Canyon Springs’ David Gray was second in 17:44.

Panthers take four-team meet
At Sonata Park, Palo Verde scored 44 points to edge Valley (50) and Arbor View (54) and take a five-team meet on the 2.8-mile course.

Coronado scored 66 points, followed by Desert Oasis (153).

Palo Verde’s Daniel Wicks won individually in 15:20. Valley’s Solomon Belay was second in 15:26.
