Roundup: Shadow Ridge places seven runners in top 10 to win meet

Shadow Ridge placed seven runners among the top 10 finishers Wednesday and won a boys cross country race at Faith Lutheran.

The Mustangs finished with 27 points. Faith Lutheran had 39. American Prep finished third with 102, followed by Eldorado (115), Arbor View (121), Cimarron-Memorial (123) and Desert Pines (209).

Faith Lutheran’s Aidan Baughan won the 3.1-mile race in 17 minutes, 34.1 seconds, and teammate Mark Wilbourne was second in 17:43.9.

Shadow Ridge’s Joseph Hughes was third in 18:03.7.

Pahrump Valley wins six-team meet

At Hemenway Park, Pahrump Valley put its five scoring runners among the top 14 finishers and held off Moapa Valley to win a six-team meet.

The Trojans had 42 points to Moapa Valley’s 47. Valley was third with 61, followed by Boulder City (79), Western (127) and Chaparral (138).

Valley’s Christian Franklin won the 3.1-mile race in 17:05, and teammate Aidan White was second in 17:35.

Moapa Valley took the next two spots with Preston Humes finishing third in 17:37 and Jerrick Stastny fourth in 18:01.
