GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Dunne, Gaels outduel Bengals

Rebecca Dunne won a 2.5-mile race in 17 minutes, 37 seconds on Wednesday to help Bishop Gorman’s girls cross country team to a 23-37 win at Bonanza.
The Bengals’ Antonia Chavez was second in 17:40, and Alexsis Chavez took third in 17:45.
Gorman’s Emily Romero and Mekella Geiger took fourth and fifth, respectively, both in 17:58.
Locey, Diamondbacks edge Spartans
At Cimarron-Memorial, Brooke Locey won a 2.7-mile race in 16:44 to help Desert Oasis to a 27-28 victory over the Spartans.
Cimarron’s Julianna Brooks finished second in 17:23, and teammate Tiana Callejo was third in 17:52.
Grizzlies take top five spots
At Sierra Vista, Cheyenne Charles won a 2.5-mile race in 19:24 and helped Spring Valley to a 15-50 win over the Mountain Lions.
Katarina Faulker was second in 19:25, and Mardene Decoud took third in 20:19 as the Grizzlies had the top five finishers in the race.
Falcons run by Eldorado
At Foothill, the Falcons took the top 11 spots and posted a 15-50 win over Eldorado.
Alyse Vanek won the 2.5-mile race in 15:59.7. Raegan Janda was second in 16:36.1, followed by Aine Jones in 16:45.1
Crusaders take three-team meet
At Faith Lutheran, the Crusaders took four of the top five spots to win a three-team meet.
Faith Lutheran had 17 points, Western was second with 44, and The Meadows did not have a full team.
The Crusaders’ Hannah Pavlov won the 3.1-mile race in 19:47, followed by teammates Jessica Scamman (20:47), and Eryn McCoy (21:34).
Cheyenne downs Clark
At Cheyenne, Jazmine Moore won a 2.6-mile race in 17:20 to help the Desert Shields to a 22-34 win over Clark.
Clark’s Marisa Black finished second in 18:26, followed by Cheyenne’s Dominique Hudson in 18:54.
Coronado overwhelms Basic
At Cinnamon Ridge Park, Emma Czerwinski won a 2.4-mile race in 16:32.8 as Coronado took the top nine and 12 of the top 13 spots to post a 15-50 win over Basic.
Taylor Lauten was second in 17:02.2, with teammate Gabriella Casas (17:03) close behind.
Bulldogs run by Legacy
At Legacy, Sydney Badger won a 3.1-mile race in 19:39 to help Centennial to a 15-47 win over the Longhorns.
The Bulldogs had the top five finishers in the race. Katie Gorczyca was second in 19:41, followed by Marieta Wright in 21:18.
