GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Jones, Aggies top Mustangs

Arbor View's Zanae Jones won a 2.95-mile race by more than one minute Tuesday to lead the Aggies to a 17-46 win at Shadow Ridge.

Jones crossed the finish line in 18 minutes, 30 seconds, well ahead of teammate Morgan Anderson, who was second in 19:43. Arbor View's Madison Fletcher finished third in 19:47.

Jessica Graf (20:35) was the top runner for the Mustangs, finishing fourth.

Vikings run by Rancho

At Rancho, Jeri Betemarium finished third in 22:47.9, just ahead of three of her teammates as Valley used its depth to defeat the host Rams, 26-31.

Valley runners took six of the top nine spots in the race.

Rancho’s Aryn Maxwell won the 3.1-mile race in 22:00.7, and teammate Emy Rodriguez was second in 22:26.3.

Cougars breeze past Dragons

At Sonata Park, Danielle Greene was the lone runner to break the 20-minute mark, winning a 2.8-mile race in 19:44.3, as Coronado earned a 15-50 win over Del Sol.

Gabriella Casas was second for the Cougars in 20:05.4, and teammates Emma Czerwinski (20:20.4), Jessica Attebury (20:36.3) and Alexandra Danlag (21:17.8) rounded out the top five.

Sayanna Roy was the top finisher for Del Sol, taking 12th place in 22:31.

Pahrump Valley nips Cheyenne

At Cheyenne, Stefanie Thelaner won a 2.65-mile race in 17:50 and helped Pahrump Valley to a 27-30 win over the Desert Shields.

Cheyenne took three of the next four places, with Jazmine Moore (17:52) second, Dominique Hudson (19:26) fourth, and D’Hari Lomax (20:17) fifth.

Spartans win tri-meet

At Cimarron-Memorial, Julianna Brooks won the 2.75-mile race in 18:52 to help the host Spartans win a three-team meet.

Legacy and Word of Life did not field complete teams.

Tiana Callejo was second for Cimarron in 19:46, and Legacy’s Danae Jensen was third in 19:55.

Tech takes three of top four spots in win

At Overton, Tech had three of the top four finishers on its way to victory in a four-team meet.

The Roadrunners had a team score of 27, followed by Moapa Valley with 58 and Lincoln County with 65. Virgin Valley did not field a full team.

Tech’s Carla Gatson won the 3.1-mile race in 23:49, 20 seconds ahead of Virgin Valley’s Abbie Barnard. Tech’s Kassandra Torres was third in 24:45, and teammate Abigail Torres-Jimenez was fourth in 26:47.

Panthers take top 23 spots in win

At Palo Verde, Marissa Suan won a 3.1-mile race in 20:09, and Palo Verde runners claimed the top 23 spots in a 15-50 win over Sierra Vista.

Samantha Reintjes was second in 21:05, and teammate Carolina Cleland was third in 21:58.
