GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Maxwell, Rodriguez help Rancho defeat Silverado

Aryn Maxwell and Emy Rodriguez took the top two spots in a 3.1-mile race at Rancho on Tuesday to lead the Rams to a 21-43 win over Silverado’s girls cross country team.

Maxwell won the race in 22 minutes, 12 seconds, with Rodriguez second in 22:26.

Silverado’s Hannah Mohler (22:52) and Rachel Katz (22:59) took the next two spots.

Jaguars win three-team meet

At Tech, Desert Pines took three of the top five spots to win a three-team meet.

The Jaguars had 22 points. Chaparral was second with 36, and the host Roadrunners did not have a full team.

Chaparral’s Linda Sue Luchsinger won the 3-mile race in 22:01.

Desert Pines’ Alondra Diaz was second in 22:21, followed by teammate Kenia Lopez in 22:38.

Liberty sweeps top five spots

At Del Sol, Sydney Groom covered the 2.4-mile course in 16:47 to lead the Patriots past the Dragons, 15-40.

Groom was followed by teammates Briana Padilla (16:57), Liz Casis-Flores (18:05), Jewel Fiorillo (18:08) and Cheryl Monaco (18:14).

Mustangs roll past Trailblazers

At Shadow Ridge, the Mustangs took the top 11 spots on the way to a 15-50 win over Durango.

Jessica Graf won the 2.9-mile race in 20:58, followed by teammates Alexandra Terry (21:12) and India Brown (21:13).

Gators top Pioneers

At Legacy West Park, Lindy Eskin won a 3.1-mile race in 24:30.5, and Green Valley took the top 12 spots to roll past Canyon Springs, which had just one runner.

Sariah Vogl was second in 24:30.8, and the next six runners finished between 24:31.1 and 24:32.3 for the Gators.
