ROUNDUP: Centennial girls slip past Palo Verde

Centennial had three of the top four finishers Tuesday to edge Palo Verde 26-29 in a dual meet at Centennial.
Palo Verde’s Kelsi Koch won on the 2.48-mile course in 17 minutes, 5 seconds, followed by Centennial’s Savannah Anas and Hayley Davis, who both finished in 17:24.
Valley tops Las Vegas, Chaparral
At Chaparral, Valley had the top three finishers on the way to winning a three-team meet.
The Vikings scored 22 points, followed by Las Vegas (37) and Chaparral (61).
Valley’s Genesis Cerrato took first in the 2.6-mile race in 15 minutes, 56 seconds. She was followed by teammates Kim Guzman (15:59) and Anne Underwood (16:19).
Lucas, Cougars dominate
At Sonata Park, Coronado had nine of the top 10 finishers on the way to 17 points and an easy win over Green Valley (46) and Silverado (79).
Coronado’s Lauren Lucas won on the 2.8-mile course in 18:29, followed by teammates Krystal Hosaka (18:31) and Erin Smith (18:42).
Liberty’s Evans sets course record
At Del Sol, Liberty’s Joslyn Evans set a course record of 15:54 on the 2.4-mile course to lead the Patriots to victory.
Liberty scored 28 points, followed by Boulder City (33) and Del Sol (64).
Henderson International’s Brittany Huff was second (16:42) and Boulder City’s Jessica Tobler third (16:45).
Eldorado beats Canyon Springs, Sunrise Mountain
At Eldorado, Claudia Gonzlaez won the 2.5-mile race in 16:53 to lead the host Sundevils to the win.
Eldorado scored 23 points, topping Canyon Springs (44) and Sunrise Mountain (55).
Canyon Springs’ Heather Hollinger was second (17:11) and Eldorado’s Gaby Vazquez third (18:53).
Foothill tops Tech, Basic
At Basic, Foothill had the top two finishers on the way to 27 points and a win over Tech (42) and Basic (62).
Cheyanne Jones won on the 2.5-mile course in 17:19.1, followed by Sage Long (17:45.9).
