ROUNDUP: Gonzalez leads Eldorado girls to win

Claudia Gonzalez pulled away for an easy win Wednesday and led Eldorado to victory in a three-team meet at Chaparral.

Gonzalez won the 2.3-mile race in 15 minutes, 36 seconds. Rancho’s Lorette Yared was second in 16:45.

The Sundevils won with a team score of 31. Rancho was second with 34, followed by Chaparral with 55.

Mata, Tech run away with title
At Tech, Ana Mata helped the Roadrunners take the top three places and win a four-team meet.

Mata won the 2.5-mile race in 17:13. Claudia Perez was second in 17:28, followed by Brenda Aguilar in 18:53.

Tech had a team score of 21. Durango was second at 47, followed by Sierra Vista (80) and Spring Valley (91).

Laurent leads Coronado to win
At Arroyo Grande Park, Michaelanne Laurent led six Coronado finishers among the top nine runners as the Cougars won a four-team meet.

Laurent won the 3.1-mile race in 19:45. Teammate Lauren Lucas was second in 20:40.

Coronado had a team score of 22. Australian Select was second with 65, followed by Green Valley (69) and Desert Oasis (92).

Liberty holds off Silverado
At Liberty, Joslyn Evans won a 3.1-mile race in 20:46 as Liberty held off Silverado, 27-28.

Boulder City’s Sara Richner finished second in 21:07. Kerissa Anaya of Silverado was third in 21:17.

Boulder City did not field a full team.

Clark rolls to victory
At Cheyenne, Clark had the top three runners to win a three-team meet.

The Chargers won with 22 points. Cheyenne was second with 43, followed by Western with 60.

Clark’s Elisa Vazquez-Vera won the 2.25-mile race in 15:19, followed by teammates Julianna Thornock (15:26) and Kira Espinoza-Levy (16:13).
