ROUNDUP: Green Valley girls pack way to win

Green Valley’s girls packed five runners in the fifth through ninth spots Wednesday to nip host Tech in a three-team cross country meet.
The Gators, who had six of the top nine finishers, had 28 points. Tech finished with 30, followed by Del Sol with 85.
Tech’s Taylor Coss won the 3.1-mile race in 22 minutes, 3 seconds.
Green Valley’s Alison Leedham was second in 22:16, followed by Tech’s Claudia Perez and Mariah Millette, who both finished in 22:26.
Gonzalez, Eldorado top Chaparral
At Eldorado, Claudia Gonzalez won the 2.5-mile race in 17:11 to lead the Sundevils to a 21-31 win over Chaparral.
Eldorado’s Gaby Vazquez (18:40) and Tona Philimon (19:14) finished second and third, respectively.
Lewis leads Cheyenne to win
At Cheyenne, Cheyenne’s Alexys Lewis won on a 2.25-mile course in 16:37 to lead the Desert Shields to 25 points and a win over Faith Lutheran (45), Mojave (62) and Virgin Valley (83).
Cheyenne’s Dolly Rivera was second (16:39) and Faith Lutheran’s Megan Bouch third (16:50).
Puente leads Spring Valley to win
At Adelson School, Spring Valley’s Dannica Puente came in first with a time of 17:18 for 2.54 miles to lead the Grizzlies to the team title with 25 points.
Bishop Gorman was second with 37, and Pahrump Valley third at 68.
Palo Verde wins meet
At Floyd Lamb Park, Arbor View had two of the top three runners on the way to 28 points and a win over Australia Select (40), Palo Verde (52), Legacy (122) and Moapa Valley (140).
Palo Verde’s Kelsi Koch won on the 3.1-mile course in 20:15, followed by Arbor View’s Kourtney Willey (20:24) and Amberly Halstead (20:44).
Reese leads Mustangs to win
At Cimarron-Memorial, Mallory Reese won on a 2.7-mile course in 17:50 to lead Shadow Ridge to 17 points and a win over Centennial (46) and Cimarron (83).
Shadow Ridge’s Elaina Vlassopoulos was second (17:52) and Michelle Schenck third (17:59).
