FLAG FOOTBALL: Brockett’s six TD tosses help Wildcats beat Jaguars

Kali Brockett threw six touchdown passes Monday to help Las Vegas High’s flag football team to a 43-18 home win over Desert Pines.

Brockett completed 23 of 33 passes for 280 yards. Mackenzie McCoy, Cierra Turner and Danielle Ruesch each caught two TD passes for the Wildcats.

McCoy caught seven passes for 121 yards, and Turner, who also returned an interception for a touchdown, had six catches for 85 yards for the Wildcats.

Mariyah Espinoza rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries for the Jaguars. Melissa Benford added five receptions for 97 yards for Desert Pines.

Shadow Ridge 32, Moapa Valley 26 — At Shadow Ridge, Joryan Brewer ran for 131 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries as the Mustangs held off the Pirates.

Alexia Murrietta completed 10 of 19 passes for 204 yards and two touchdowns for Shadow Ridge, and teammate Taylor Velarde caught five passes for 139 yards and a score.

Sierra Vista 44, Durango 20 — At Sierra Vista, Anye Drummond rushed for 127 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Mountain Lions over the Trailblazers.

Neomi Vazquez passed for 210 yards and three touchdowns for Sierra Vista. Anna Montemalo had 110 yards receiving and two TDs, and Vladana Lazic also caught a TD pass for the Mountain Lions. Dreah Gaspar added 120 receiving yards for Sierra Vista.

Zarina Felix tossed three touchdown passes for Durango. Meleesamaree Areizaga, Ciena Cuellar and Amanda Maloney each hauled in one of Felix’s scoring passes.

Palo Verde 32, Cheyenne 6 — At Palo Verde, Caitlyn Oxford threw three TD passes as the Panthers downed the Desert Shields.

Morgan Myers had two receiving touchdowns, and Amanda Drake ran for a score and caught a TD pass for Palo Verde, which also got a rushing touchdown from Daniesha Clayton.

Arbor View 38, Spring Valley 14 — At Spring Valley, Haley Nibarger caught two touchdown passes and returned an interception for a score as the Aggies topped the Grizzlies.

Taylor Howie completed 6 of 11 passes for 164 yards and three TDs for Arbor View.

Nibarger caught three passes for 110 yards, and teammate Francesca D’Arienzo added 124 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Aggies. Madison Fletcher also returned an interception for a touchdown for Arbor View.

Valley 32, Canyon Springs 6 — At Valley, DaNiece Dixon scored two touchdowns to lead the Vikings by the Pioneers.

Paige Tarr, Brandie Barton and Fantija Williams each added a touchdown for Valley.

Sydney Morris had three receptions for 94 yards and intercepted two passes for Canyon Springs.

Rancho 19, Sunrise Mountain 13 — At Rancho, Mayela Calvo rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown and had two interceptions as the Rams came back from a 13-6 halftime deficit to down the Miners.

Megan Sloan added 72 rushing yards and a touchdown, and Ayann Kadir also ran for a score for Rancho.

Alexus Aragon ran for 165 yards on eight carries, including a 99-yard touchdown run, for Sunrise Mountain.

Silverado 27, Green Valley 13 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks topped the Gators.

Kayla Anderson rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries and caught four passes for 50 yards and a score for Green Valley.

Clark 7, Western 0 — At Clark, Sabrina Luz rushed for the only touchdown to lead the Chargers by the Warriors.
