FLAG FOOTBALL: Gators shut out the Falcons, advance to semis

Morgan Gibson scored on a 2-yard run in the first half, and Green Valley’s defense made it stand as the Gators earned a 7-0 win over host Foothill on Tuesday.

The game’s only score was set up by a 48-yard pass from Gibson to Tamera Grieves.

Grieves keyed the defense with 11 tackles and an interception.

Alley Seidler added nine tackles and a sack, and Bailey Webster had two sacks for the Gators (15-4), who travel to Silverado (15-4) for a Sunrise Region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Boulder City 34, Las Vegas 12 — At Boulder City, Jeanne Carmell threw three touchdown passes and ran for two scores to lead the Eagles past the Wildcats (9-12).

Carmell completed 19 of 28 passes for 254 yards. She also ran for 93 yards on 11 carries.

Kinsey Smyth made eight catches for 125 yards and two scores, and Jollene Gosselin also caught a TD pass for the Eagles. Boulder City (19-0) hosts Valley (15-4) in a Sunrise Region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Cimarron-Memorial 40, Shadow Ridge 7 — At Cimarron, Jaymee Luke was 13-for-16 passing for 197 yards and five TDs to help the Spartans beat the Mustangs in the Sunset Region quarterfinals.

Luke also had 13 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown, caught two passes for 10 yards and intercepted a pass on defense.

DeShan Cambrit had six catches for 112 yards and touchdown, and Logan DeLong caught eight passes for 87 yards and three scores for Cimarron (16-3), which goes to Arbor View (19-0) for a Sunset Region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Joryan Brewer rushed for a touchown for Shadow Ridge (10-9).

Centennial 13, Palo Verde 6 — At Centennial, Zshalyn Canfield rushed for one touchdown and passed for another as the Bulldogs edged the Panthers (11-8).

Canfield was 16-for-25 passing for 136 yards, including a 6-yard TD toss to Taylor Reeves. Canfield also had seven carries for 63 yards, including a 5-yard TD run.

Bryanna Thompson had 14 tackles for Centennial (16-3), which hosts Legacy (15-6) in a Sunset Region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Legacy 31, Sierra Vista 26 — At Sierra Vista, Avi’Ana Shelton and Klarisah Harris each rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Longhorns over the Mountain Lions (13-6).

Shelton had 166 yards on 20 carries, and Harris rushed 16 times for 165 yards.

Tavia Wells intercepted a pass on fourth down in the final two minutes to seal the victory.

Arbor View 12, Desert Oasis 6 — At Arbor View, Haley Nibarger caught a TD pass and returned an interception for a touchdown to help the Aggies top the Diamondbacks (16-6).

Hibarger had five catches for 57 yards.

Taylor Howie passed for 149 yards and a TD, and Francesca D’Arienzo rushed for 99 yards and had 12 tackles for Arbor View.
