FLAG FOOTBALL: Gibson dominates as Green Valley beats Coronado

Morgan Gibson threw for 342 yards and five touchdowns Thursday to lead Green Valley’s flag football team to a 41-13 win over visiting Coronado.

Gibson completed 18 of 26 passes, and Tamara Grieves completed her lone pass attempt for 16 yards and a score for the Gators.

Kayla Anderson caught four passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns, and Carolina Velazquez added four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown for Green Valley.

Michelle Seidler led the Gators’ defense with six tackles and a sack.

Eldorado 26, Sunrise Mountain 12 — At Sunrise Mountain, Keelyn Pacheco threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Sundevils by the Miners.

Sophia Johnson hauled in two of Pacheco’s scoring passes and had 68 receiving yards. Shelby Johnson added 79 rushing yards and a touchdown for Eldorado.

Shyloh Lucero scored both Sunrise Mountain touchdowns.

Desert Pines 13, Chaparral 6 — At Desert Pines, Mariyah Espinoza had 116 total yards and a touchdown to help the Jaguars top the Cowboys.

Raynette Hines added 129 total yards, and Melissa Benford had 40 total yards and a touchdown for Desert Pines.

Las Vegas 18, Del Sol 6 — At Las Vegas, Cierra Turner returned an interception for a touchdown to lead the Wildcats past the Dragons.

Turner had two interceptions for Las Vegas, which also got a 5-yard TD pass from Samantha Remer to Kali Brockett.

Lauren Cranor hauled in a 3-yard TD pass from Sierra Morales for Del Sol.

Boulder City 19, Silverado 18 — At Silverado, Paige Buettner’s 10-yard TD run and 1-point conversion run in overtime lifted the Eagles by the Skyhawks.

Kinsey Smyth returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown, and Jollene Gosselin added a 6-yard TD run for Boulder City.

Tech 20, Canyon Springs 14 — At Canyon Springs, Patricia Jurisprudencia, Austyn Dziewit and Jacqueline Bernal each scored a touchdown as the Roadrunners topped the Pioneers.

Taraneka Carroll and Amaya Youngblood each caught a touchdown pass for Canyon Springs.

Valley 27, Basic 20 — At Valley, Ivanya Garcia scored three touchdowns to help the Vikings hold off the Wolves.

Brandie Barton added a touchdown for Valley.

Nicole Mullins, Kawena Sheehan and Kim Austin each scored a touchdown for Basic.

Clark 12, Liberty 6 — At Clark, Olivia Berenguel ran for a touchdown, and Linda Asoau-Valdez tossed a TD pass to Stephanie Chavez as the Chargers nipped the Patriots.

Sierra Gilliland caught a TD pass for Liberty.

Rancho 27, Foothill 13 — At Rancho, Chanel Eliason scored four touchdowns to lead the Rams by the Falcons.

Sam Fennell completed 22 of 40 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns for Foothill. Marissa Brackett caught eight passes for 124 yards and a TD, and Sayonna Thunstrom also hauled in a TD pass for the Falcons.
