FLAG FOOTBALL: Gibson leads second-half rally as Gators down the Mustangs

Morgan Gibson threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score Wednesday to help Green Valley’s flag football team rally for a 31-21 win over visiting Shadow Ridge.

Kayla Anderson caught a touchdown pass and had an interception for Green Valley, which battled back from a 21-18 halftime deficit.

Carolina Velasquez, Adelia Sigala and Kaili Fisher each caught a touchdown pass for the Gators.

Desert Pines 20, Durango 0 — At Desert Pines, Mariyah Espinoza had 13 rushes for 140 yards and a touchdown and added 72 receiving yards and a TD to help guide the Jaguars to a win over the Trailblazers.

Malissa Benford supplied 95 yards rushing on 11 carries, and Dulce Suarez had five catches for 90 yards and a TD for Desert Pines, which got nine tackles and four sacks from Jasmine Horton.

Jennifer Zavala recorded two interceptions and 10 tackles for Durango.

Spring Valley 13, Sunrise Mountain 12 — At Sunrise Mountain, Nicole Feno caught two TD passes to help the Grizzlies edge the Miners.

Sunrise Mountain quarterback Alexus Aragon tossed touchdown passes to Katia Garcia and Brittany Sousa.

Palo Verde 13, Las Vegas 12 — At Las Vegas, the Panthers scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:30 to go as Palo Verde nipped the Wildcats.

Mackenzie McCoy had a rushing touchdown, and Danielle Reusch caught a TD pass and had an interception for Las Vegas, which led 6-0 at halftime.

Canyon Springs 13, Moapa Valley 7 — At Canyon Springs, Amaya Youngblood’s 42-yard touchdown catch in the second half lifted the Pioneers by the Pirates.

Arielle Strong had a 33-yard TD run in the first half for Canyon Springs.

Arbor View 16, Valley 12 — At Valley, Francesca D'Arienzo scored two first-half touchdowns and rushed for 116 yards to lead the Aggies by the Vikings.

Breanna Faircloth had 10 tackles for the Aggies.
