FLAG FOOTBALL: Juarez-Avila helps Miners edge Tech

Paola Juarez-Avila had a 4-yard touchdown run and returned an interception 70 yards for a score Tuesday to lead Sunrise Mountain's flag football team to a 13-7 win over visiting Tech.

Katy Orellana had a 3-yard TD run for the Roadrunners.

Desert Pines 39, Moapa Valley 30 — At Overton, Meleane Ngaue threw for 319 yards and six touchdowns as the Jaguars defeated the Pirates.

Ilaisaana Ngaue caught three passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and Kiera Haley had seven receptions for 67 yards and a score for the Jaguars.

Del Sol 38, Chaparral 20 — At Del Sol, Lauren Cranor completed 16 of 18 passes for 173 yards and five touchdowns to power the Dragons past the Cowboys.

Estefany Gonzalez-Vargas caught six passes for 78 yards, including scores of 41 and 17 yards for Del Sol, which got two TD catches from Alina Marruffo. Sierra Brooks had 10 carries for 114 yards, including a 54-yard TD scamper for the Dragons.

Neshaune Franklin rushed for 233 yards and three touchdowns for Chaparral.

Sierra Vista 45, Spring Valley 18 — At Sierra Vista, Jamie Kalaau-Sunia scored three touchdowns to lead the Mountain Lions over the Grizzlies.

Kalaau-Sunia caught two TD passes and rushed for a score.

Courtney O'Neal rushed for 120 yards on 12 carries and intercepted two passes for Sierra Vista, and quarterback Kalei Watkins passed for 147 yards for the Mountain Lions.

Clark 39, Western 0 — At Clark, Messeret Ibrahim threw two touchdown passes and returned an interception for a score as the Chargers blanked the Warriors.

Keyani Irving ran for two touchdowns, and Jasmine Brooks had a rushing touchdown and a touchdown catch for Clark. Lauren Marcus added a TD catch for the Chargers.

Legacy 40, Durango 0 — At Durango, Mia Samuels caught three passes for 68 yards and three touchdowns to help the Longhorns rout the Trailblazers.

Nicole White completed 8 of 14 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns for Legacy. Akia Williams threw a touchdown pass and caught a TD pass for the Longhorns, who got scoring runs from Traonna Hamblett and Kaila Hackett.

Boulder City 18, Virgin Valley 0 — At Mesquite, the Eagles wrapped up the Sunrise League title by blanking the Bulldogs.

Palo Verde 33, Shadow Ridge 7 — At Shadow Ridge, the Panthers outscored the Mustangs 19-0 in the second half to pull away.

Samantha Kaplan caught a TD pass from Victoria Tolle for Shadow Ridge. Tolle passed for 174 yards.

Cheyenne 35, Mojave 13 — At Mojave, the Desert Shields rallied from a 13-12 halftime deficit to top the Rattlers.

Michelle Hernandez had two touchdown runs for Mojave.
