FLAG FOOTBALL: Meshell, Cowboys upset visiting Gators

Toni Meshell scored on a 10-yard touchdown run in overtime to lift Chaparral to a 33-27 home win over Green Valley on Friday.

Karina Gomez had 18 tackles to lead the Cowboys, who kept the Gators out of the end zone in overtime to preserve the win.

Meshell rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns. Neshaune’ Franklin added 187 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries for Chaparral.

Green Valley quarterback Adelia Sigala passed for four TDs.

Basic 34, Coronado 13 — At Coronado, Annalyse Gonzales passed for 160 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wolves over the Cougars.

Both TD passes were to Hannah Matsui.

Alexandria Kelley and Nicole Dirilo each ran for a touchdown for the Wolves. Kelley also returned an interception for a touchdown.

Heaven Lucero threw two touchdown passes to Katie Downs for Coronado.

Cimarron-Memorial 61, Clark 7 — At Clark, Jaymee Luke completed 19 of 24 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 75 yards and a score as the Spartans dominated the Chargers.

Luke added a 29-yard TD reception from teammate Rosie Del Rosario, who finished 4 of 8 for 47 yards. Del Rosario also ran for a touchdown and caught a score for the Spartans.

DeShan Cambrit caught six passes for 98 yards and two scores, and Tiana Callejo had 81 yards and two TDs on five catches for Cimarron.

Chloe Blossom scored on a 2-yard run for Clark.

Foothill 47, Tech 6 — At Tech, Jadyn McArthur completed 28 of 36 passes for 336 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Falcons by the Roadrunners.

Emily Russell caught 11 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns, and Renee Ritchie hauled in eight passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. McArthur also ran for 46 yards and a TD.

Victoria Boson returned and interception for a touchdown for Foothill.

Desert Oasis 34, Western 13 — At Western, Izriah Hodson rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries, and the Diamondbacks scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to top the Warriors.

Kylee Bauer finished 14 of 24 for 177 yards and a touchdown, and Sydni Aldan caught eight passes for 102 yards and a score for the Diamondbacks, who got two interceptions from Kaelyn Bennett.

Centennial 45, Mojave 14 — At Mojave, Kiana Sai completed 15 of 20 passes for 286 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 32 yards on four carries to lead the Bulldogs past the Rattlers.

Sai also had 11 tackles and an interception on defense for Centennial.

Talie Bonds rushed for 105 yards and TD on six carries and made four catches for 72 yards for the Bulldogs.

Virgin Valley 37, Bonanza 19 — At Bonanza, the Bulldogs took a 25-6 lead at the half and rolled to the win over the Bengals.

Bonanza’s Brittney Calhoun had touchdown receptions of 2 and 20 yards, and teammate Brianna Hernandez had a 6-yard TD rush.
