FLAG FOOTBALL: Murrietta accounts for four TDs as Mustangs hold off Panthers’ rally

Alexia Murrietta tossed three touchdown passes and ran for a score Friday to help Shadow Ridge’s flag football team to a 26-21 home win over Palo Verde.

Murrietta completed 7 of 17 passes for 122 yards.

Joryan Brewer, Aubrey Hall and Allie Ortega each caught a touchdown pass for the Mustangs, who led 26-2 at the half.

Desert Pines 24, Sunrise Mountain 0 — At Desert Pines, Dulce Suarez and Mariyah Espinoza each returned an interception for a touchdown as the Jaguars downed the Miners.

Espinoza also rushed for 63 yards on 10 carries.

Mariana Rodriguez completed 4 of 5 passes for 62 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown strike to Melissa Benford, for Desert Pines.

Green Valley 39, Canyon Springs 13 — At Green Valley, Morgan Gibson completed 12 of 16 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Gators past the Pioneers.

Gibson also rushed for two TDs, and teammate Kaela Green carried nine times for 71 yards and two TDs.

Kayla Anderson and Tamara Grieves each caught a touchdown pass for the Gators.

Coronado 27, Tech 13 — At Green Valley, Ariana Grgas caught two touchdown passes to help the Cougars defeat the Roadrunners.

Lauren Pleinmann had a receiving TD, and Caroline Teixeira scored on a 15-yard TD run for Coronado.

Tech’s Kimmie Rodriguez threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Jan Danica Briones, and Patrice Jurisprudencia added a rushing TD for the Roadrunners.

Arbor View 65, Durango 6 — At Arbor View, Aalonah Sterling rushed for two touchdowns and returned an interception for another score as the Aggies routed the Trailblazers.

Sterling rushed for 124 yards on seven carries, and Mia D’Arienzo added 194 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries for Arbor View. Taylor Howie threw three touchdown passes, and Madison Fletcher returned two interceptions for touchdowns for the Aggies.

Las Vegas 19, Rancho 13 — At Rancho, the Wildcats held off the Rams.

Ayann Kadir and Divyne Camberos each scored a touchdown for Rancho, and Sharisse Nagatori threw for 150 yards for the Rams.
