FLAG FOOTBALL: Tiarra Del Rosario, Cimarron knock off top-ranked Shadow Ridge

Tiarra Del Rosario completed 12 of 17 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns Thursday as host Cimarron-Memorial’s flag football team edged top-ranked Shadow Ridge, 18-13.

Logan DeLong had eight catches for 122 yards and a TD, and Nancy De La Torre had five rushes for 15 yards and a score for the Spartans.

Genesis Nickerson also had a TD catch for Cimarron, which led 12-6 at halftime.

Dayvian Diaz and Samantha Milanovich each scored rushing touchdowns for Shadow Ridge. Sonia Triana had six tackles and an interception to lead the Mustangs defense.

Foothill 20, Silverado 13 — At Foothill, Madisyn McArthur accounted for two first-half touchdowns, and the Falcons held off the Skyhawks.

McArthur went 11-for-26 for 150 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Morgan Melton, and she added 48 yards and a score on nine carries.

Paityn Toohey rushed for 44 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries for Foothill, which led 20-6 at halftime.

Mariah Coleman led the Falcons’ defense with 12 tackles.

Centennial 20, Legacy 19 — At Centennial, LeNae Thomas had 18 carries for 130 yards and two touchdowns, and the Bulldogs’ defense stopped an extra-point conversion with 23 seconds left to top the Longhorns.

Thomas scored on runs of 26 and 10 yards.

Taylor Aquino added 11 carries for 102 yards, and Halli Erickson completed 7 of 8 passes for 142 yards and a TD. Erickson threw a 50-yard TD pass to Denae Benites for the Bulldogs.

Chantay Dixon led Centennial’s defense with 14 tackles.

Jalyn Joule threw for 136 yards and two TDs to lead Legacy. Derrica Daniel and Mikaela Nunez each caught a TD, and Aliya Spears returned an interception 78 yards for a score for the Longhorns.

Green Valley 30, Liberty 0 — At Green Valley, Bella Cipili threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Gators blanked the Patriots.

Christina Mayberry caught two TD passes, and Hennessy Elkins and Janice Jackson each caught a touchdown pass for Green Valley, which led 18-0 at halftime.

Erin Zinke had a team-high seven tackles for the Gators, while Mayberry had six. Tiara Jimmison and Carolynn Fedarko each had an interception.

Palo Verde 19, Arbor View 12 — At Palo Verde, Alyssa Tygh scored two rushing touchdowns as the Panthers overcame a 12-0 halftime deficit to down the Aggies.

Mya Boykin also scored a rushing touchdown for the Panthers.

Mojave 12, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Sunrise Mountain, Michelle Garnett scored on a 40-yard fumble return in the second half to help the Rattlers defeat the Miners.

Cheyanne Johnson caught a 21-yard TD pass from Marilyn Membreno in the first half for Mojave.

Cheyenne 24, Western 0 — At Western, the Desert Shields grabbed an 18-0 halftime lead en route to the easy win over the Warriors.

Fabray Elam had 24 carries for 166 yards to lead Western.

Coronado 13, Basic 12 — At Basic, the Cougars overcame a 12-6 halftime deficit to defeat the Wolves.
