FLAG FOOTBALL: Wieslander’s interception return gives Vikings victory over Gators

Baylee Wieslander returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown Tuesday to break a 13-13 tie and give Valley's flag football team a 19-13 home victory over Green Valley in the Sunrise Region quarterfinals.

Neida Gutierrez returned an interception 82 yards for a score for the Vikings, and teammate Esmerelda Tenorio had a rushing TD.

Valley (13-6) plays at Foothill (22-1) in a semifinal at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Green Valley's Bella Cipili completed 14 of 27 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown and also rushed for a score. Carolina Velasquez had the TD catch for the Gators (15-7).

Las Vegas 27, Eldorado 6 — At Las Vegas, Sabrina Saldate tossed four touchdown passes in the first half to lead the Wildcats (19-2) by the Sundevils (7-12).

Saldate completed 15 of 22 passes for 262 yards.

Natalie Gennuso caught five passes for 124 yards and two touchdowns, and Tajanae Davis had five receptions for 68 yards and two TDs for Las Vegas, which hosts Coronado (14-5) at 4 p.m. on Thursday in a semifinal.

Coronado 25, Liberty 0 — At Coronado, Trinity Rhoades had a rushing touchdown and caught a TD pass to lead the Cougars over the Patriots (5-14).

Alexandrea Hondo rushed for a touchdown, and Shawna Slater had a TD catch for the Cougars, who led 13-0 at the half. Heaven Lucero and Caitlin Shannon each had a touchdown pass for Coronado.

Foothill 28, Canyon Springs 0 — At Foothill, Jadyn McArthur passed for 247 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Falcons over the Pioneers (6-14).

McArthur completed 24 of 32 passes and also rushed for 36 yards on five carries.

Emily Mull, Marissa Spatafore and Cerena Troyano each had a TD catch for Foothill, and teammate Chloe Collins rushed for a score.

Jenessa Montoya intercepted two passes for the Falcons.

SUNSET REGION

Centennial 24, Shadow Ridge 8 — At Centennial, Aliyah Wyrick scored two touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs over the Mustangs in a Sunset Region quarterfinal.

Wyrick rushed for 77 yards, including a 5-yard TD run, on nine carries. She also caught a 20-yard TD pass from Hallie Erickson.

Erickson completed 5 of 8 passes for 110 yards and three scores.

Isabel Barilla caught a 50-yard TD pass, had six tackles and an interception for Centennial, and Bridgette Beckette added a TD catch for the Bulldogs. Centennial (20-3) plays at Legacy (19-5) in a semifinal at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Jordan Ford rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown to lead Shadow Ridge (12-10).

Desert Oasis 25, Durango 7 — At Desert Oasis, Aniyah Reed and Dominique Korschinowski each intercepted two passes to lead the Diamondbacks over the Trailblazers (1-18).

Kylee Bauer threw two TD passes for Desert Oasis (13-6), which outscored Durango 18-0 after halftime.

The Diamondbacks host Palo Verde (13-6) in a semifinal at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Legacy 40, Cimarron-Memorial 14 — At Legacy, Nicole White completed 13 of 15 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns to help the Longhorns top the Spartans (5-14).

Akia Williams rushed for 131 yards on 12 carries, including TD runs of 2 and 60 yards for Legacy. Williams also caught a 14-yard TD pass from White, and finished with four catches for 91 yards.

Qaylee Baker-Judie and White each had a rushing TD, and Brenden Miller caught a 5-yard scoring pass from white for the Longhorns.

Palo Verde 36, Arbor View 7 — At Palo Verde, Caitlin Oxford threw four touchdown passes to power the Panthers over the Aggies (13-9).

DIVISION I-A

Sierra Vista 36, Mojave 0 — At Sierra Vista, Jamie Kalaau-Sunia scored two touchdowns and intercepted two passes to help the Mountain Lions beat the Rattlers in a Sunset League tournament semifinal.

Courtney O'Neal rushed for 125 yards on six carries, and Kalei Watkins passed for 200 yards for Sierra Vista. The Mountain Lions (12-7) play Cheyenne (12-7) in the Sunset League title game at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Rancho.

Boulder City 34, Desert Pines 13 — At Boulder City, Jeanne Carmell had a hand in four touchdowns to lead the Eagles over the Jaguars in a Sunset League tournament semifinal.

Carmell completed 17 of 20 passes for 237 yards and two TDs, both to Aimee Finn. Carmell also rushed for 153 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.

Emma Jeppsen rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown on nine carries for Boulder City, and teammate Kenadee Bailey had 13 tackles and a sack.

The Eagles (19-0) play Del Sol (15-5) in the Sunrise League title game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Rancho.

Del Sol 27, Virgin Valley 6 — At Del Sol, quarterback Lauren Cranor had touchdown runs of 5 yards and 1 yard, and threw a TD pass to Xolani Frazier to power the Dragons by the Bulldogs.

Kalijah Williams rushed for 95 yards, including a 25-yard TD scamper, and provided and interception on defense for Del Sol.

Cheyenne 36, Spring Valley 6 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields knocked off the Grizzlies (5-14).
