FLAG FOOTBALL: Witecki’s TD tosses lead Longhorns past Aggies

Ariana Witecki completed only three passes Tuesday, but all were for touchdowns as Legacy’s flag football team topped visiting Arbor View, 31-22, in a Sunset Region quarterfinal.

Witecki finished 3 of 8 for 164 yards. Akia Williams hauled in two of the scoring strikes, and Aujaneh Jackson caught the other for the Longhorns (18-2), who will host Centennial (17-2) in a region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Williams and Avi’Ana Shelton each ran for a touchdown for Legacy.

Arbor View finished 11-8.

Centennial 30, Cheyenne 14 — At Centennial, Lauren Ritter rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries to lift the Bulldogs over the Desert Shields (11-8).

Aliyah Wyrick also ran for a score, and Ashley Marshall returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown for Centennial.

Palo Verde 12, Desert Oasis 7 — At Palo Verde, Alyssa Tygh’s 4-yard touchdown run in the first half put the Panthers ahead for good in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Cydnee Bush had a 25-yard TD run for Palo Verde (12-7), which will visit Cimarron-Memorial (19-0) in a region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kylee Bauer threw a touchdown pass to Alex Blockovich on the opening drive of the game for Desert Oasis (13-6).

Cimarron-Memorial 56, Shadow Ridge 28 — At Cimarron, Jaymee Luke ran for 215 yards and four touchdowns and threw for 188 yards and two scores as the Spartans downed the Mustangs (10-9).

Luke completed 15 of 19 passes. Rosie Del Rosario also threw a TD pass for Cimarron.

Logan DeLong caught two TD passes, and Briana Callejo caught one scoring pass for the Spartans.

Green Valley 39, Las Vegas 14 — At Las Vegas, Adelia Sigala ran for three touchdowns and threw two TD passes to Carolina Velazsquez as the Gators topped the Wildcats.

Sigala completed 17 of 22 passes for 204 yards. Amanda Ellis also rushed for a touchdown for Green Valley (14-5), which will visit Boulder City (19-0) in a region semifinal at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Danielle Ruesch caught two TD passes for Las Vegas (14-6).

Boulder City 20, Del Sol 0 — At Boulder City, Jeanne Carmell threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score as the Eagles blanked the Dragons (10-9).

Carmell rushed for 93 yards on nine carries and completed 10 of 19 passes for 180 yards, including a scoring strike to Makenzy Waldo. Paige Buettner added a touchdown run for Boulder City.

Foothill 32, Valley 25 — At Foothill, Jadyn McArthur threw three touchdown passes to Emily Russell and ran for a score to help the Falcons top the Vikings (10-9).

McArthur completed 13 of 20 passes for 158 yards for Foothill (19-3), which will visit Silverado (17-2) at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Jenessa Montoya returned an interception for a touchdown for the Falcons.

Silverado 33, Basic 25 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks downed the Wolves (11-8).
