Mustang Rodeo: Dayvian Diaz powers host Shadow Ridge to tournament title

Dayvian Diaz ran 13 times for 167 yards and a touchdown to lead Shadow Ridge’s flag football team to a 39-19 home victory over Las Vegas High on Friday in the championship game of the Mustang Rodeo.

Shadow Ridge’s Emily Butler threw for 208 yards and touchdown passes to Alex McGriff, Deleinee Paialii and Samantha Guerra.

Sonia Triana had a pair of sacks for the Mustangs, and Guerra had six tackles.

Guerra and Jordan Ford each had a rushing touchdown for Shadow Ridge, which outscored the Wildcats 19-0 in the second half.

Arbor View 21, Bonanza 20 — Brittnee Kublick threw a touchdown pass to Haylee Niemann in overtime, then connected with Katelyn Yoakum for the conversion to lift the Aggies over the Bengals in overtime of the third-place game.

Arbor View scored in the final two minutes of regulation to tie it, including a 2-point conversion by Lia Angione, who was called up from junior varsity.

Cindylou Rasiang threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns for the Bengals, with one TD catch each from Shayne Dunn, Alexis Marquez and Alicia Kestner.

Sunrise Mountain 19, JV Shadow Ridge 12 — The Miners took down the Mustangs’ junior varsity to claim fifth place.

Shadow Ridge 19, Bonanza 6 — Jordan Ford rushed for 228 yards and a touchdown and threw two touchdowns to lift the Mustangs over the Bengals in pool play.

Sonia Triana caught two touchdown passes for the Mustangs.

Charlene Beck ran in Bonanza’s touchdown.

Bonanza 12, Sunrise Mountain 6 — Cindylou Rasiang accounted for two touchdowns as the Bengals beat the Miners in pool play.

Rasiang rushed for a score, and threw one to Alexis Marquez.

Charlene Beck rushed for 131 yards for the Bengals.

Shadow Ridge 34, Sunrise Mountain 13 — Ford ran for 220 yards and two touchdowns and had a receiving touchdown as the Mustangs routed the Miners in pool play.

Dayvian Diaz had 15 tackles, an interception and a defensive touchdown for the Mustangs.

Las Vegas 25, Arbor View 13 — The Wildcats defeated the Aggies in pool play.

Las Vegas 25, JV Shadow Ridge 0 — The Wildcats blanked the Mustangs’ JV team in pool play.

Arbor View 30, JV Shadow Ridge 6 — The Aggies defeated the JV Mustangs in pool play.
