Ngaue sisters help Desert Pines flag football top Moapa Valley in play-in game

Meleane Ngaue threw four touchdown passes — three to her sister Ilaisanna — to lead Desert Pines' flag football team to a 26-12 win over Moapa Valley in a Sunrise League play-in game at Spring Valley on Saturday.

The Jaguars advance to the Division I-A playoffs and will face top-ranked Boulder City on Tuesday.

Meleane Ngaue completed 8 of 16 passes for 182 yards. Ilaisanna Ngaue caught four passes for 86 yards, and Tanaiya Hinton had four catches for 77 yards and a touchdown for Desert Pines.

Hinton added 100 rushing yards on 14 carries, and Reina Trujillo rushed for 94 yards on 13 carries for the Jaguars.
