Roundup: Alyssa Tygh’s arm sends Palo Verde past Cimarron

Alyssa Tygh tossed three touchdown passes and ran for a score to power Palo Verde’s flag football team to a 27-20 road win over Cimarron-Memorial on Thursday.

Tygh completed a 50-yard TD strike to Grace Cashin, and TDs of 25 and 23 yards to Betsy Bellinger for the Panthers.

Cimarron’s Tiara Del Rosario completed 19 of 35 passes for 346 yards and three TDs, including two to Zeccia Halton and one to Samantha Silva.

Western 7, Sunrise Mountain 6 — At Western, Ashley Medina intercepted a pass at the Warriors’ 5-yard line late in the game to seal the win over the Miners.

Koloa Makaafi caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Yareth Medina in the first half for Western, and Shydae Elam’s extra-point run ended up being the margin of victory.

Elam had 95 yards on 12 carries.

Green Valley 28, Basic 12 — At Basic, Christina Mayberry had a 5-yard rushing touchdown, a 5-yard receiving TD, 13 tackles, a sack and an interception to power the Gators by the Wolves.

Jennifer Haberstock tossed a 4-yard TD to Jazlyn Camacho for Green Valley, which got a rushing score from Theresa Caruso.

Marissa Owens threw a 60-yard TD strike to Dre’Yahna Carter and supplied a rushing TD to lead Basic.

Coronado 27, Foothill 7 — At Coronado, Jensen Boman caught nine passes for 132 yards and a touchdown to lead the Cougars over the Falcons.

Reagan Raimer caught four passes for 38 yards and two scores, and Sydnee Hansen had a touchdown reception for Coronado. Caitlin Shannon completed 15 of 24 passes for 247 yards and four TDs.

Shawna Slater had six tackles and an interception to lead the Cougars’ defense.

Shadow Ridge 34, Centennial 0 — At Shadow Ridge, Jordan Ford ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries as the Mustangs blanked the Bulldogs.

Ebonii Starks ran for 85 yards and a touchdown on eight carries for the Mustangs.

Janae Marzan had two interceptions to lead the Mustangs’ defense.

Arbor View 24, Legacy 6 — At Legacy, the Aggies grabbed an 18-0 halftime lead before topping the Longhorns.

Jalyn Joule threw a touchdown pass to Mikaela Nunez for Legacy.

Cheyenne 50, Desert Pines 6 — At Cheyenne, the Desert Shields raced out to a 31-0 halftime lead before defeating the Jaguars.

Silverado 14, Liberty 12 — At Silverado, the Skyhawks took a 14-0 halftime lead and held off the Patriots.
