Roundup: Durango edges Western, 24-19

Marina Bacon threw two touchdown passes and had a rushing touchdown as the Durango’s flag football team eked out a 24-19 road victory at Western on Friday.

Gabreila Corchado had two touchdown receptions, and Alexus Jordan also had a touchdown reception for the Trailblazers. Nayeli Silva-Kahalawei also threw a 28-yard touchdown pass, and Tattiana Baes had 111 rushing yards for Durango.

Warriors’ Shydae Elam ran for 160 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

Koloa Makaafi and Nicole Declaro each scored rushing touchdowns for the Warriors.

Sierra Vista 20, Arbor View 13 — At Arbor View, Courtney O’Neal had 150 rushing yards including a rushing touchdown as the Mountain Lions defeated the Aggies.

Sierra Vista’s Jamie Kalaau-Sunia had six catches for 90 yards and had two touchdowns, and teammate Mia Buranamontri had six catches for 58 yards.

Chaparral 24, Eldorado 12 — At Eldorado, Alyssa Porras threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cowboys past the Sundevils.

Chaparral’s Vanessa Sanchez, I’asia Mack and Cynthia Aguilar each caught a touchdown pass, and Naja Muhammad ran for 70 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.

Sisilia Taumoefolau had eight tackles to lead the Chaparral defense.

Mohn’Ai Roberson ran for 168 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to lead the Sundevils.

Moapa Valley 26, Rancho 7 — At Overton, Alexis Peay completed 19 of 28 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Pirates to a victory over the Rams.

Alexis Schraft had 121 receiving yards and returned an interception 21 yards touchdown. Maxime van der Laan and Christie Eriksen each had a touchdown reception,.and Eriksen also had an interception on defense.

Cimarron-Memorial 39, Mojave 6 — At Cimarron, Mya Bethea threw for 322 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Spartans past the Rattlers.

Samantha Silva caught five passes for 188 yards and four touchdowns. Natasha Obradovic and Diona Whitley each caught a touchdown pass for Cimarron.

Whitley had five tackles to lead the Cimarron defense.

Basic 40, Canyon Springs 20 — At Canyon Springs, Marissa Owens had 240 passing yards and threw six touchdown passes as she led the Wolves to a victory over the Pioneers.

Basic’s Kelsie Weber had nine receptions for 145 yards and five touchdowns, and Dre’Yahna Carter had a touchdown reception and rushed for 100 yards.

Palo Verde 34, Bonanza 6 — At Bonanza, Betsy Bellinger intercepted two passes and had a touchdown reception to help the Panthers beat the Bengals.

Mya Boykin rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on five carries, and quarterbacks Kennedy Cole and Alyssa Tygh each rushed for a touchdown.

Grace Cachin had three catches, including a 50-yard TD pass from Tygh.

Cameron Gerek added six tackles, a sack and an interception for Palo Verde.

Alicia Kestner had 100 receiving yards and a touchdown for the Bengals.

Cheyenne 12, Valley 6 — At Valley, the Desert Shields defeated the Vikings.
