Boys Cross Country

Bryce Odegard, Pahrump Valley

The senior posted the top local time at the Las Vegas Invitational at Sunset Park, covering the three-mile course in 15 minutes, 29 seconds to place second in the small-school boys race.

Emilia Puskas, Bishop Gorman

The freshman won the large-school girls race at the Las Vegas Invitational, finishing in 17 minutes, 28 seconds for three miles.

Zyrus Fiaseu, Liberty

The freshman safety had six tackles and returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown in a 28-7 win over Alta (Utah) at Sam Boyd Stadium.

Girls Golf

Lani Potter, Boulder City

The senior shot 2-over 74 to claim medalist honors in a Class 3A Sunrise League match at Falcon Ridge on Thursday. Potter won the match by six strokes and led the Eagles to the team title.

Miguel Mendoza, Chaparral

The senior defender scored 10 goals and tallied six assists to help the Cowboys go 5-1 last week, including 3-1 at the Show Low Invitational in Arizona.

The senior scored eight goals in two games, including all four in a 4-3 victory over top-ranked Bishop Gorman last Thursday.
