Outlook: The Hornets hope to rebuild under Koeller who arrived in October from Ohio and will coach her first season at Beatty. Koeller expects to start five underclassmen including three sophomores, so the coach will build from ground level with younger talent. Despite weaknesses in passing and blocking, expectations are high for Beatty, a program that hasn’t seen the postseason in several years.

Coronado set a state record with its score of 11-under at the Class 5A girls golf state championship. In tennis, Palo Verde swept the boys and girls 5A championships.
