Edwards powers undefeated Longhorns past Shadow Ridge

Junior running back Deshae Edwards rushed for 226 yards on 16 carries to lead Legacy (5-0, 2-0 Northwest) to a 41-0 win over visitng Shadow Ridge (1-4, 0-2) in a Northwest League matchup on Friday.

Edwards had an 87-yard run early in the first quarter before Darryl Tootle chased him down. Junior quarterback Zach Monticelli capitalized two plays later with a 1-yard touchdown plunge.

Edwards put the Longhorns ahead 13-0 at the half with a 7-yard touchdown scamper. He added a 71-yard touchdown sprint in the fourth quarter.

The Longhorns forced three turnovers on defense, led by Dillan Knowles who recovered a fumble and had two sacks.

Zach Hill led the Mustangs with 107 yards on 22 carries.
