Top athletes: Morgan Oswald (Jr.), Shannon Ritter (Sr.), Clarke Knight (Jr.), Taylor Fendell (Sr.), Fiorella Vallejo (Sr.), Renee Moser (Jr.)

Outlook: The Gators look to rebound from a third-place finish in the Sunrise regional last fall. It was the first time since 1991 — the year the school opened — that the girls failed to qualify as a team for state.

With three returning runners from the regional team of last season, Thompson said he has "excellent depth but looking for a front-runner. (Transfer) Moser and any number of sophomores should make big impact."
