Gavin Amelburu, Green Valley
The sophomore catcher was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Gators to an 11-5 win over nationally ranked Basic. He was 5-for-10 with two doubles for the week.

Taylor Okamura, Coronado
The senior was named to the all-tournament team after helping the Cougars reach the title game at the National Tournament in Torrance, California. Okamura had 12 RBIs in five games.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Hayden Van Orden, Palo Verde
The senior setter totaled 103 assists in wins over Foothill, Liberty and Green Valley. Van Orden had 42 assists and 14 digs in Palo Verde’s come-from-behind, five-set home win over the Gators, who are the defending state champions.

Cameron Gambini, Arbor View
The junior shot 3-under 69 at Highland Falls to take medalist honors in the first Northwest League match and also was the medalist in the Aggies’ dual match against Shadow Ridge.

Frank Harris, Basic
The senior cleared 7 feet to win the high jump title at the Laguna Beach Trophy Invitational. The mark is the best in the nation this season, according to athletic.net.

GIRLS TRACK
Gabby Carson, Liberty
The junior won athlete of the meet at the Liberty Invitational in helping the Patriots win the meet. She won the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, six inches and the long jump at 16-0. She also placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 35-8.

BOYS SWIMMING
Gavin Gould, Spring Valley
The freshman won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 6.72 seconds, and the 500 freestyle in 5:05.04 against Sierra Vista, leading the Grizzlies to their first win of the season over the Mountain Lions.

GIRLS SWIMMING
Cassidy Ludwig, Shadow Ridge
The senior won two events Saturday to lead Shadow Ridge to a 165-121 win over Arbor View last week. Ludwig won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.12 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 58.63 to help lead Shadow Ridge to its first win of the year.

ARBOR VIEW — Boys track runners Ian Jackson, Tim Myers, Cameron Barnes and Keith Williams won the 3,200-meter relay at the Liberty Invitational with a time of 8 minutes, 18.65 seconds.
BONANZA — Boys track athlete R.J. McCarter cleared 6 feet, 4 inches to place second in the high jump at the Laguna Beach Trophy Invitational. The mark is good for fourth in the Bonanza high jump Hall of Fame.
CIMARRON-MEMORIAL — Boys volleyball player Edher Aldaco had 42 assists in five-set win against Bonanza.
CORONADO — Baseball player Garrett Lake went 5-for-10 with six runs and a pair of RBIs in four games, and had a two-inning save against Bishop Gorman.
DESERT OASIS — Boys track runner Enrique Jimenez broke the school record in the 1,600-meter run in the Laguna Beach Trophy Invitational with a time of 4 minutes, 37.15 seconds.
GREEN VALLEY — Baseball player Matt Gilbertson had eight RBIs, including a walk-off hit against Palo Verde and a grand slam against Rancho. He also went 2-0 on the mound with a 1.61 ERA. Girls track athlete Deborah Grant picked up a win in the 400-meter run at Foothill, and placed first in the 200 at the Laguna Beach Trophy Invitational.
LEGACY — Boys volleyball player Christian Brown had a total of 33 assists, 16 kills, six blocks and three aces in two matches.
MOJAVE — Girls track athlete Belle Cadle won the shot put in the season’s first meet with a distance of 33 feet, 3 inches.
PAHRUMP VALLEY — Baseball pitcher Garrett Lucas struck out seven in a seven-hitter in a 9-3 win over Chaparral. Softball player Krista Toomer was the winning pitcher in victories over Moapa Valley and Tech.
PALO VERDE — Baseball player Ryan Merino went 8-for-14 with four doubles to lead the Panthers to a series win over Shadow Ridge. Softball player Ally Snelling had a .464 average with a homer, a double and eight RBIs in leading the Panthers to a 6-2 record in three league games and five tournament games.
SHADOW RIDGE — Softball player Shelbi Denman pitched seven innings and struck out seven in a win over Palo Verde.
SIERRA VISTA — Boys track athlete Devon Faison threw a personal record 40 feet, 9½ inches in the shot put to take first overall against Durango. He then placed second in discuss with a distance of 137-10. Softball player Kalei Watkins pitched two complete games against Desert Oasis, giving up one earned run and striking out 10.
