The junior had 24 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 70-45 win over nationally-ranked Mater Dei (Calif.) in the Nike Extravaganza in Santa Ana, California.

The senior intercepted a pass in overtime to clinch a 33-26 win over Liberty. Trujillo also hit Leti Godoy with a 5-yard TD pass on Canyon Springs' overtime possession, and completed 8 of 14 passes for 88 yards in the game.

ARBOR VIEW — Girls basketball player Alaysia Reed averaged 10 points, four rebounds and four steals in wins over Bonanza and Las Vegas.

BONANZA — Flag football player Brianna Hernandez-Silva rushed for 224 yards and two TDs and passed for 102 yards and three scores in a 34-30 win over Clark.

CENTENNIAL — Boys basketball player Troy Brown had 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals in a 78-52 road win over Desert Oasis.

CHAPARRAL — Girls basketball player Marcia Hawkins scored 36 points against Virgin Valley.

CORONADO — Girls basketball player Ksana Montoya averaged 8.3 points and 9.3 rebounds over three games.

DESERT OASIS — Boys basketball player Aamondae Coleman was 9-for-13 from the field, including 3-for-5 on 3-pointers, and had 22 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals against Centennial. Flag football player Lisia Wolfgramm had a total of seven catches for 126 yards and a touchdown in two games.

FAITH LUTHERAN — Girls basketball player Emily Kirvin had eight rebounds, six blocked shots, four assists and two steals against Western, and five blocked shots, five steals and five assists against Cheyenne.

MOJAVE — Wrestler Mario Shelton-Poindexter finished 7-0 in Sunset League competition and went 32-3 for the regular season. Flag football player Leilani Limtiaco had three catches for 61 yards and completed a touchdown pass against Sierra Vista, and had a touchdown pass and a touchdown reception against Clark.

MOUNTAIN VIEW — Boys basketball player Tevin Gray had 27 points in a 61-28 win over Lake Mead. Girls basketball player Tayah De'Bouck had 24 points in a 51-24 victory over Lake Mead.

PALO VERDE — Flag football player Betsy Bellinger had six tackles and an interception in a 40-0 victory over Durango.

SIERRA VISTA — Girls basketball player Iymoni Burrell had seven points, three rebounds and five assists in a 68-40 win over Clark. Boys basketball player Calvin Richards averaged 13 points and five assists in two games.

Coronado girls down Gorman for 5A volleyball region title

The Coronado girls volleyball team swept Bishop Gorman to win the Class 5A Southern Region final Saturday at Palo Verde. Both teams advance to the state tournament.
