ARBOR VIEW — Girls swimmer Autumn Hobson placed third in the 100-yard breaststroke against Bishop Gorman.

BONANZA — Boys track athlete Ilias Garcia won the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Richard Lewis Invitational in Overton, and was named the meet’s outstanding athlete.

BOULDER CITY — Boys swimmer Nick Lara won the 200-yard freestyle in 1 minute, 46.76 seconds and the 100 butterfly in 53.73 in a victory over Valley. Girls swimmer Montana Lloyd won the 200 individual medley in 2:09.74 and the 100 backstroke in 59.06 in a win over Valley.

CENTENNIAL — Girls swimmer Maddie Cartmill won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 21.26 seconds and the 50 freestyle in 27.56 in a 212-38 victory over Cimarron-Memorial. Boys golfer Joshua James shot 6-over-par 78 in a Northwest League match at Paiute.

DESERT OASIS — Girls track athlete Erin Gibson placed first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 1.04 seconds in a meet against Palo Verde. Boys track athlete Nick Benham won the discus with a mark of 150 feet, 6 inches, and the shot put with a throw of 49-9 at the Valley Relays.

GREEN VALLEY — Softball player Samantha Loving batted .615 for the week with three doubles, two homers and seven RBIs.

LEGACY — Girls track athlete C’Aree Stevenson won the 100-meter dash in 12.31 seconds, placed third in the 200 and ran on the winning 400 and 800 relay teams at the Richard Lewis Invitational in Overton. The 400 relay team set a meet record of 49.31. Boys track athlete Jamaal Britt won the 300 hurdles in 40.24 and the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 8 inches at the Richard Lewis Invitational. He also took third in the 110 hurdles and ran on the 800 relay team that placed third.

MOJAVE — Boys golfer Marcus Mullins shot 91 in a Sunset League meet at Canyon Gate. Girls swimmer Allison O’Neal was part of three first-place finishes (two individual events and one relay) in a meet against Western.

PALO VERDE — Boys volleyball player Haden Van Orden had a total of 68 assists, 18 digs and seven blocks in wins over Bishop Gorman and Legacy. Girls swimmer Grace Siebmann won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1 minute, 6.3 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 5:28.12 in a 217-64 victory over Durango.

SIERRA VISTA — Softball pitcher Kalei Watkins went 4-for-7 for the week with two homers, two doubles, eight RBIs and struck out 14 in 10 innings without allowing an earned run. Boys swimmer Haris Kurtagic won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 4.97 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.66 in a 183-55 victory over Desert Oasis.

SPRING VALLEY — Baseball player Nick Rupp thew a one-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts in a 1-0 victory over Sierra Vista.

Coronado girls down Gorman for 5A volleyball region title

The Coronado girls volleyball team swept Bishop Gorman to win the Class 5A Southern Region final Saturday at Palo Verde. Both teams advance to the state tournament.
