Long rolls perfect game, but Tech comes up short against Silverado

Tech’s Dallas Long rolled the second 300 game of the Sunrise Region boys bowling tournament Tuesday, but the Roadrunners fell to Silverado, 9-0 in the regional semifinals at The Orleans.
Long had a 729 series, which was nearly matched by Silverado’s Eric Hatchett, who rolled a 720 set. Hatchett put up a perfect game in Friday’s first round.
Silverado advances to meet Coronado in Wednesday’s region final. Coronado was a 9-0 winner over Foothill.
In the Sunset Region, Spring Valley advanced with a 9-0 win over Cimarron-Memorial, and Legacy was a 7-2 winner over Bishop Gorman.
In the girls region semifinals, Shelsey Mateo had a 236 game and a 663 series to lead Palo Verde to a 7-2 win over Legacy.
The Panthers will meet Arbor View — a 9-0 winner over Cimarron — in Wednesday’s Sunset Region final.
In the Sunrise Region, Silverado edged past Las Vegas 5-4, and Coronado swept Tech, 9-0.
