Eldorado scored 21 unanswered points in the second half on Friday night to defeat visiting Foothill, 24-17.
Eldorado’s opportunistic defense intercepted two passes to lead the comeback.
The first interception came with 7:30 left in the fourth quarter and the Falcons deep within their own territory. Sundevils defensive lineman Chris Eliason batted Foothill quarterback Aaron Dupin’s pass into the air and Deondre Williams made a diving catch for the interception, which set up the Sundevils’ go-ahead score, a 23-yard run by DeAndre Smith.
The second interception came with 1:32 left in the fourth quarter by cornerback Jordan Harrison in the corner of the end zone to deny the Falcons an opportunity to tie the game.
The Sundevils (3-2) were led by Smith, who ran for 82 yards and two touchdowns.
Foothill (2-3) was led by running back Algernon Sewell, who had 137 yards on 18 carries and one score.
