1A REGIONALS: Curi hurries home to lift Henderson International baseball past Tonopah

Chase Curi stole home with two outs in the top of the seventh inning Thursday to give Henderson International’s baseball team a 1-0 win over Tonopah in the Class 1A Southern Region tournament at Indian Springs.
Curi reached on a fielder’s choice and moved to third on a single by Charles Pachas before stealing home.
Logan Christie and Boomer Sherrill combined on a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Wolverines (18-10), who play Pahranagat Valley at noon Friday.
Cody Serfoss threw a three-hitter and struck out 13 for the Muckers (20-9).
Pahranagat Valley 6, Beatty 5 — At Indian Springs, Chase Hansen went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs to lead the Panthers (19-2) over the Hornets (19-10).
Kale Leavitt was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run, and winning pitcher Kyle Wadsworth struck out nine for Pahranagat Valley.
Jose Moreno was 3-for-4 with three runs and two stolen bases for Beatty, which faces Tonopah in an elimination game at 3 p.m. Friday.
SOFTBALL
Lake Mead 8, Pahranagat Valley 7 — At Indian Springs, Samantha Herman’s two-run single down the right-field line with two outs in the bottom of the seventh plated Amanda Wellman and Taylor Vetter to give the Eagles (20-9-1) the win.
Herman finished 2-for-4 for the Eagles, who advance to meet Henderson International at noon Friday in the winners’ bracket final.
Addie Canning had three hits and Kyla Mortensen hit a solo homer in the seventh inning for Pahranagat Valley (14-12), which will play Indian Springs in an elimination game at 2 p.m.
Henderson International 12, Indian Springs 2 — At Indian Springs, Alyssa Ayers went 3-for-3 with a double to help the Wolverines (25-4) beat the Thunderbirds (13-10) in five innings.
