Outlook: In any other Division I league last season, the Bengals likely would have been a playoff team, but trapped in a league with four teams that all finished 10 or more games above .500, Bonanza missed out.
Eleven lettermen return to try to get the Bengals back into the postseason.
O’Rourke expects Dunn (.395, 3 home runs, 19 RBIs) to be among the team’s offensive leaders along with Higa (.347, 16 RBIs), DeSoto (.362, 1 RBIs) and Schultz (.303, 18 RBIs).
“Senior Kyle Ming and juniors Luis Lares and Danny Ruiz, among others, look to contribute to the pitching staff that has to replace the 47 innings thrown by Spencer Faught, who graduated,” O’Rourke said.
