BASEBALL: Boulder City rallies to stun Spring Valley

Zach Murphy drew a bases-loaded walk to force home Austin Wishard with the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday as Boulder City’s baseball team rallied for a 5-4 win over visiting Spring Valley.

The Eagles trailed 4-0 before scoring twice in the fourth and twice in the sixth inning to tie the game.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Wishard reached on an error and moved to second base. After an intentional walk to Peyton Koopman, Alec Mathis had an infield single to load the bases for Murphy, who drew a four-pitch walk.

Koopman went 2-for-3 with two runs, and Mathis was 2-for-4 for Boulder City.

Bryce Bullock went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Nick Rupp and Jack Sellinger each went 2-for-4 for the Grizzlies.

Silverado 9, Canyon Springs 0 — At Canyon Springs, Kevin Pindel threw a no-hitter and went 3-for-3 with three doubles and four RBIs to lead the Skyhawks past the Pioneers.

Pindel struck out six and allowed two walks.

Dax Fellows went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, and Payton Ballard was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.

Michael Camburn went 2-for-4 with a double and a run, and Alex Grafiada finished 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored for the Skyhawks, who remained a half-game behind Basic in the Division I Sunrise League.

Basic 11, Liberty 5 — At Liberty, Trent Bixby went 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs to help the first-place Wolves top the Patriots.

Liberty tied the game with five runs in the fifth inning, but Basic put up five more in the top of the sixth inning to pull away. Bixby also earned the win as he came on in the sixth and struck out four in his two innings of work.

Garrett Giles was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Jack Wold finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Roger Riley went 2-for-5 with an RBI for Basic.

Jayzen Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a double, run and RBI, while Michael Wong also had a double for Liberty.

Las Vegas 1, Eldorado 0 — At Eldorado, Austin Strong fired a three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts as the Wildcats blanked the Sundevils.

Diego Delgado went 2-for-3 with a double, and Hector Perez scored Las Vegas’ only run in the third inning on a passed ball with the bases loaded.

Eldorado pitcher Isaac Villanueva also went the distance, allowing five hits and no earned runs while fanning 11.

Ian Reber went 2-for-2 for the Sundevils.

Foothill 5, Rancho 4 — At Rancho, Jordan Fredericksen went 3-for-4 with two runs scored to help the Falcons nip the Rams.

Robbie Boschetti was 1-for-1 with two RBIs for Foothill, which scored three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 5-2 lead.

Braulio Santiaguin was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Jimmy Gamboa and Anthony Becerra each added two hits for Rancho, which got a home run from Zach Barnhart.

Green Valley 10, Valley 0 — At Green Valley, Justin Caputo came within two outs of a five-inning perfect game and settled for a one-hitter as the Gators blanked the Vikings.

Caputo struck out eight. He allowed only a fifth-inning single to Bryce Cowin.

Jimmy Montiel went 2-for-3 with a triple and a run, and Brad Jetter went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Green Valley.

Desert Oasis 12, Arbor View 2 — At Arbor View, Brett Brocoff and Kyle Fuentes each went 3-for-4 to help the Diamondbacks rout the Aggies in five innings.

Gage Ventura was 2-for-3 with a double, while Ryley Toole and Josh Sharman combined on a five-hitter for Desert Oasis.

Jayce Gardner went 2-for-3 for Arbor View.

Sierra Vista 15, Legacy 5 — At Sierra Vista, Ryan Carroll went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs to help the Mountain Lions down the Longhorns in five innings.

DaVion Hollis was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Kaven Alferez was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for Legacy.

Eric Ortiz had a three-run triple for Legacy.

Clark 5, Sunrise Mountain 2 — At Sunrise Mountain, Brendan Palmer led off the game with an inside-the-park home run, and the Chargers put up four runs in the first inning on the way to a win over the Miners.

Palmer finished 3-for-4, and Matthew Thompson had a double and an RBI for Clark.

Zachary Graham earned the win, pitching 2 2/3 innings of relief while allowing zero hits with five strikeouts.

Del Sol 13, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Del Sol, Cordell Bowie went 3-for-3 with a double and four RBIs, and Jorge Costa went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead the Dragons past the Trojans.

Jason Rolland finished 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs, Isaiah Salazar went 2-for-3 and Stanley Natale drove in two runs for Del Sol.

Parker Hart and Nico Velazquez each had a double for Pahrump Valley.

Tech 13, Mojave 9 — At Tech, Drew Cole went 3-for-3 with a run and two RBIs, and the Roadrunners used a 10-run sixth inning to rally past the Rattlers.

Alexis Acosta was 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, and Jayce Otis and Jalen Birch each doubled for Tech, which trailed 9-3 after the top of the sixth inning.

Otto Hernandez was 4-for-5 with a triple and an RBI to lead Mojave. Chris Clawson tripled, and Cameron Torres doubled for the Rattlers, who finished with six errors.

Pahranagat Valley 17-19, Beaver Dam 0-0 — At Alamo, Christian Higbee went 7-for-7 with four runs and six RBIs in the doubleheader as the Panthers swept a pair of five-inning games from the Diamondbacks.

In the opener, Higbee and Brandon Burris combined on a one-hitter. Christian Higbee was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, and Garrett Higbee was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.

In the nightcap, Christian Higbee was 4-for-4 with four RBIs, and Burris went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Pahranagat Valley. Ike Taylor was 3-for-3 with four runs for Pahranagat Valley.

Indian Springs 14-15, Sandy Valley 0-1 — At Indian Spings, Ryan Frank threw a three-hit shutout and struck out eight in the first game to help the Thunderbirds sweep a doubleheader from the Sidewinders.

Frank, Austin Thomas, Nino Alvarez and Devon Sickler all doubled to lead the Thunderbirds’ offense in the opener, which blew the game open with an eight-run fourth inning.

In the second game, Aaron Avery, Donald Watkins and Garrett Booher each doubled, and Julian Peete went 2-for-2 to lead Indian Springs.

Alvarez allowed one run on three hits and fanned seven to pick up the win. Sickler struck out the side in the top of the fifth inning to end the game.

Logan Shelton had a double and an RBI for the Sidewinders in the nightcap.

Needles 17-16, Mountain View 0-3 — At Needles, California, Devin Darrow was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the opener as the Mustangs swept a pair of five-inning games from the Saints.

Spring Mountain 12-8, Beatty 13-1 — At Mountain Ridge Park, the Golden Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning of the nightcap to salvage a doubleheader split with the Hornets.

White Pine 19-5, Laughlin 9-33 — At Laughlin, the first 17 batters of the third inning scored for the Cougars in the second game as the hosts salvaged a doubleheader split with the Bobcats.

Round Mountain 11-16, Tonopah 10-5 — At Tonopah, the Knights swept a doubleheader from the Muckers.

The Meadows 7-7, Agassi Prep 0-0 — The Mustangs won two games by forfeit against the Stars.
