BASEBALL: Braxton Bruschke’s hit gives Spring Valley eight-inning win

Braxton Bruschke hit a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning Monday to lift Spring Valley’s baseball team to a 7-6 home win over Desert Oasis.
Bruschke also pitched 2⅔ scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win.
Jack Sellinger went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs for the Grizzlies. Kade Higgins, Nick Rupp and Bryce Bullock each doubled, and Jaxson Otis tripled for Spring Valley.
Cole Schaefer went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Diamondbacks, and Gage Ventura also doubled for Desert Oasis.
Mojave 3, Western 2 — At Mojave, Scott Wilson allowed one earned run and struck out eight over eight innings as the Rattlers edged the Warriors.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Rease McClain and Logan Forepaugh walked, and Nathaniel Saucedo then singled to load the bases. Kevin Gutierrez then grounded to third but the throw to home pulled Western catcher Michael Davison off the plate, allowing McClain to score the winning run.
Mike Cianci also doubled for the Rattlers.
Legacy 7, Cimarron-Memorial 6 — At Cimarron, the Longhorns scored five runs in the top of the fifth en route to the win over the Spartans.
Willie Valdez-Grijalva was 2-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI to lead Legacy, and teammate Jordan Crawford went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.
Zach Culver drove in two runs for Cimarron, and Daniel Valdivia was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI for the Spartans. Trevor Doyle added two hits and a run for Cimarron, which scored twice in the seventh to pull within a run but Donta Williams got the final three outs to record the save.
Centennial 7, Palo Verde 6 — At Palo Verde, Kyle Horton and Zack Simon each went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs past the Panthers.
Palo Verde rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Nik Dobar got Jaxson Hammond to fly out with runners at the corners to end the game.
Gino Sabey was 2-for-3 with two runs for Centennial. Garrett Holden allowed two unearned runs on six hits in six innings to get the win.
Jaret Godman went 2-for-3 with two runs for Palo Verde.
Faith Lutheran 6, Arbor View 2 — At Arbor View, Jacob Ortega went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs and an RBI to lead the Crusaders over the Aggies.
Sagan Gronauer was 3-for-4 with a double, a run and an RBI for Faith Lutheran, and teammate Paulshawn Pasqualotto was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run and an RBI.
Parker Sylvester went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Crusaders. Zach Phillips allowed two runs on six hits in six innings to get the win.
Nick Cornman was 2-for-4 with a double for Arbor View.
Basic 10, Rancho 6 — At Basic, Trace Evans was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs as the Wolves held on to beat the Rams.
John Howard Bobo was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and an RBI for the Wolves, who scored seven runs in the fourth inning. Christian Rivero also doubled for Basic.
Joey Walls had a double for Rancho, which scored five runs in the seventh inning.
Sunrise Mountain 14, Cheyenne 4 — At Cheyenne, Cecil Hall went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and three RBIs, and Earl Garrett was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs to help the Miners rout the Desert Shields in five innings.
Donavan Hansen was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, and Daltyn Pytrysson went 2-for-5 with two runs for Sunrise Mountain, which led 7-0 after two innings.
Titus Quintanilla and Zach Childress each doubled for Cheyenne.
Bishop Gorman 15, Clark 2 — At Gorman, Austin Wells was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs to help the Gaels to the five-inning win over the Chargers.
Jorel Hingada was 1-for-3 with a home run, three runs and three RBIs, and Nick Israel was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs for Gorman.
Guy Tannenbaum had a two-run single in the third inning for Clark.
Pahrump Valley 11, Desert Pines 1 — At Pahrump, Garrett Lucas allowed one run on one hit and struck out eight as the Trojans routed the Jaguars in five innings.
Parker Hart went 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI, and Willie Lucas went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Pahrump. Garrett Lucas and Drew Walker also doubled for the Trojans.
Juan Castaneda hit a solo home run for the Jaguars.
Virgin Valley 6, Tech 2 — At Tech, Dylan Fuqua went 2-for-2 with two walks and a double and pitched 6⅔ innings in the Bulldogs’ win over the Roadrunners.
Nathan Cannon entered the game to record the final out for Virgin Valley.
Calvary Chapel 10, Sandy Valley 0 — At Calvary Chapel, Elijah Carrington went 2-for-3 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to lead the Lions past the Sidewinders in five innings.
Alec Neider tripled, and Coby Delaney added two hits for Calvary Chapel, which scored four runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings.
Jessie Ramos picked up the win.
Lake Mead at The Meadows — The doubleheader between the Eagles and the Mustangs was postponed by rain.
