BASEBALL: Centennial starts fast, tops Shadow Ridge

Garrett Holden went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs and two RBIs on Friday to help Centennial’s baseball team hold off visiting Shadow Ridge, 11-8.

Kyle Horton was 2-for-4 with a home run, and winning pitcher Jake Rogers was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Bulldogs, who built a 9-3 lead after four innings.

Shadow Ridge pulled within 11-7 to start the seventh and scored on a bases-loaded, two-out single by Trevin Reynolds, but Horton got a fly out with the bases still loaded to end the game.

Reynolds was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, and Quinn Ayers went 3-for-4 with a run for the Mustangs.

Cheyenne 7, Clark 6 — At Cheyenne, David Rose’s bases-loaded single plated Angelo Hallenback with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Desert Shields rallied by the Chargers.

Hallenback tossed a four-hitter with nine strikeouts and went 4-for-4 with a triple.

Titus Quintanilla was 4-for-4 with two RBIs, and Rose went 3-for-5 with a double for Cheyenne, which scored twice in the sixth and twice in the seventh to pull out the win.

Bishop Gorman 6, Bonanza 3 — At Bonanza, Nick Hernandez was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Nicholas Israel went 1-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs to help the Gaels top the Bengals.

Myles Denson was 1-for-4 with two RBIs for Gorman, which scored five runs in the fifth inning.

Chris Dunn and Danny Ruiz each went 2-for-3 with a run for Bonanza.

Arbor View 20, Cimarron-Memorial 5 — At Cimarron-Memorial, Jayce Gardner went 4-for-5 with a grand slam, a double, three runs and five RBIs as the Aggies routed the Spartans in five innings.

Logan Santos went 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, three runs and three RBIs, and Dylan Anderson was 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBIs for Arbor View.

Nick Quintana had a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Tyler Conner added a triple, two runs and an RBI for the Aggies, who also got a double and two runs from Joe Fitzhugh.

Jaret Godman was 3-for-3 with a two-run home run, and Justin Lucas added a solo home run for Cimarron.

Durango 12, Legacy 1 — At Durango, Charles Smith went 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs to help the Trailblazers down the Longhorns in five innings.

Adam Niederman was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Richard Mascarenas was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for Durango.

Alex Tadd went 2-for-3 with a double and a run for Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 16, Sierra Vista 5 — At Sierra Vista, Brandon Davis went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park grand slam, a double and five RBIs to lead the Crusaders by the Mountain Lions in five innings.

Liam Bredin was 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs for Faith Lutheran. Sagan Gronauer was 3-for-3 with a triple, a double, three runs and two RBIs for the Crusaders.

Blake Kaplan was 2-for-2 with a double, and Ryan Carroll was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs for Sierra Vista.

Spring Valley 14, Pahrump Valley 3 — At Spring Valley, Jaxson Otis went 3-for-4 with two triples and two RBIs as the Grizzlies topped the Trojans in five innings.

Jonathan Bakken was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, and Bryce Bullock was 1-for-3 with three RBIs for Spring Valley. Braxton Bruschke was 1-for-3 with two RBIs for Spring Valley.

Aaron Fuentes was 2-for-3 with a solo home run, and Bradah Costa went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI for Pahrump.

Mojave 21, Western 4 — At Western, Elijah Glaze went 4-for-4 with two home runs, a double and five RBIs to lead the Rattlers by the Warriors in five innings.

Jacob Davis was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Rease McClain was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Mojave, which got doubles from Otto Hernandez and Chris Clawson.

Kevin Gutierrez struck out five to pick up the win for the Rattlers.

Armando Marrero was 2-for-3 with a home run and a double, and Ricardo Ordorica went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple to lead Western. Jordan Keho, Edgar Manuel and James Carrillo each had a double for the Warriors.

The Meadows 18-10, Lincoln County 8-11 — At Panaca, Alex Agrawal had three hits and three RBIs in the opener as the Mustangs earned a doubleheader split with the Lynx.

Justin Tanaka added two hits and five RBIs in the first game for The Meadows, which scored 14 runs in the fifth inning to end the game on the mercy rule.

Ethan Fridman and Nabeel Afzal each had four hits for the Mustangs in the second game.

Cody Thornock had three hits and two RBIs as the Lynx rallied with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of the nightcap to salvage a split.

Mike Wood had two hits in the opener for Lincoln County.

Pahranagat Valley 17, Sunrise Mountain 3 — At Sunrise Mountain, the Panthers topped the Miners.

Needles 21-15, White Pine 4-0 — At Needles, California, the Mustangs swept a pair of games from the Bobcats.

Round Mountain 16-17, Spring Mountain 4-6 — At Round Mountain, the Knights won both games of a doubleheader against the Eagles.

Laughlin 10-18, Mountain View 0-7 — At Mountain View, the Cougars swept the doubleheader with the Saints.

Agassi Prep at Calvary Chapel — The host Lions won a pair of games by forfeit.
