BASEBALL: Jack Wold, Basic walk off with win

Jack Wold singled off the right-field fence with one out in the bottom of the seventh to score Christian Rivero and lift Basic’s baseball team to a 3-2 home victory over Las Vegas on Wednesday.

Wold went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Trace Evans was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Wolves. Rivero, who reached on a bunt single in the seventh, was 2-for-4.

Christian Sanford allowed one hit and struck out four in two scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

Payton Miller was 2-for-3 with a double for the Wildcats. Nathan Freimuth added an RBI double for Las Vegas.

Rancho 4, Silverado 1 — At Rancho, Anthony Guzman was 3-for-4 with an RBI double and two runs to help the Rams down the Skyhawks.

Winning pitcher Jimmy Gamboa tossed 5⅔ innings, allowing one earned run with six strikeouts to get the win for Rancho.

David Arambula, Joey Walls and Edarian Williams each supplied an RBI single for the Rams.

Tyler Paasche had an RBI double, and teammate Payton Ballard doubled to lead Silverado.

Eldorado 3, Canyon Springs 1 — At Eldorado, Julio Rodarte tossed a four-hitter with four strikeouts as the Sundevils edged the Pioneers.

Tony Sanchez was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and teammate Trevor Lavenberg supplied two RBIs for Eldorado.

Luis Osorio-Avila went 2-for-3 with an RBI single to pace Canyon Springs.

Spring Valley 7, Sierra Vista 0 — At Sierra Vista, Bryce Bullock tossed a five-hit shutout with seven strikeouts and no walks to power the Grizzlies past the Mountain Lions.

Jack Sellinger was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead Spring Valley’s offense. Joey Melinchok, Jaxson Otis and Nick Rupp each supplied two hits for the Grizzlies.

Cooper Kitrel and Kaui Kaleopaa each doubled for Sierra Vista.

Pahrump Valley 2, Mojave 1 — At Mojave, brothers Garrett Lucas and Willie Lucas each had RBI doubles in the sixth inning to overcome a 1-0 deficit and help the Trojans to nip the Rattlers.

Garrett Lucas had 13 strikeouts in six innings of work to get the win, and Bradda Costa pitched a scoreless seventh to pick up the save.

Drew Walker supplied a double for Pahrump.

Andrew Foley hit a double for Mojave.

Boulder City 5, Virgin Valley 4 — At Mesquite, the Eagles scored a run without the benefit of a hit in the top of the seventh to edge the Bulldogs.

Jake Hubel was hit by a pitch with one out and scored the go-ahead run for Boulder City.

The Eagles managed just one hit in the game, but scored four runs in the top of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead.

Hubel also pitched four innings of relief to get the win.

Jayden Perkins was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs for Virgin Valley.

Cimarron-Memorial 5, Bonanza 4 — At Cimarron, Lasith Narasinghe singled home Derek Decolati with one out in the bottom of the sixth to break a 4-4 tie and give the Spartans the win over the Bengals.

Decolati was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs, and Narasighe and Zach Culver each had two RBIs to lead Cimarron.

Danny Ruiz went 2-for-3 with two RBIs for Bonanza, and teammate Julian DeLeon was 2-for-3 with a run.

Moapa Valley 4, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Anthony Cornwall went 1-for-2 with two RBIs to help the Pirates down the Dragons.

Chase Hadley added a double for Moapa Valley, which scored two runs in each of the first two innings.

Winning pitcher Jade Marshall pitched four innings and combined with Colby Longman on a three-hitter.

Chandler Miller hit a double for Del Sol.

Palo Verde 11, Faith Lutheran 1 — At Palo Verde, J.D. Brooks was 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs to help the Panthers to the five-inning win over the Crusaders.

Jacob Godman went 2-for-4 with a double,a run and an RBI for Palo Verde.

Scott Cosby and Jaxon Hammond each had a double and two RBIs for the Panthers.

Jaret Godman went the distance, allowing an unearned run on two hits, to get the win. He struck out five and walked one.

Parker Sylvester went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Faith Lutheran.

Centennial 20, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Shadow Ridge, Jake Rogers was 3-for-5 with a triple, a run and four RBIs to help the Bulldogs rout the Mustangs in five innings.

Tanner Wright went 3-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs, and Austin Kryszczuk was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, two runs and three RBIs for Centennial, which had 18 hits.

Zack Simon went 3-for-3 and also threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs on seven hits, to get the win.

Bryson Barnes was 2-for-3 with a double and a run for Shadow Ridge.

Arbor View 13, Legacy 2 — At Arbor View, Joe Fitzhugh was 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs to lead the Aggies over the Longhorns in five innings.

Talon LeBaron went 3-for-3 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI, and Jesse Pierce was 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs for Arbor View, which led 8-0 after two innings.

Austin Pfeifer added a solo homer for the Aggies.

Jackson Sproul allowed one run on four hits in four innings to get the win. He struck out five with no walks.

Donte Williams went 2-for-3 with a run to lead Legacy.

Tech 17, Chaparral 7 — At Tech, Trevor Kephart was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a three-run home run, four runs and seven RBIs as the Roadrunners defeated the Cowboys in six innings.

Chandler Gehring went 3-for-4, and teammates Drew Cole, Jose Leon and Gabe Kermode each collected two hits for Tech.

James Cobian had an RBI double and two runs to lead Chaparral.

Foothill 16, Valley 0 — At Foothill, Kelton McCall went 2-for-2 with two homers and six RBIs to lead the Falcons to a three-inning victory over the Vikings.

McCall had a two-run homer in the first, and his grand slam highlighted a 10-run second inning for Foothill.

Chayse Parenteau was 2-for-2 with two runs, and Brayden Griffie was 2-for-3 with three runs for the Falcons.

Jake Perales pitched a three-hitter to get the win.

Indian Springs 11, Laughlin 5 — At Laughlin, the Thunderbirds topped the Cougars.
