BASEBALL: Kevin Clark’s homer gives Liberty No. 5 seed

Kevin Clark hit a two-run home run in the ninth inning Friday to lift Liberty’s baseball team to a 6-4 road victory over Las Vegas in the completion of a game suspended on March 9.

The win secured the Class 4A Sunrise League’s No. 5 seed for Liberty in the upcoming Sunrise Region tournament. The Wildcats fell to the eighth seed.

Liberty’s Jordan Bohnet tossed two shutout innings to earn the victory.

Centennial 10, Faith Lutheran 0 — At Centennial, Kyle Horton was 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs and pitched two scoreless innings in the five-inning victory over the Crusaders.

Brett Berger added a grand slam, and Austin Kryszczuk was 2-for-2 with a solo home run for the Bulldogs.

Kian Wilbur was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI, and Tanner Wright went 2-for-3 with a run for Centennial.

Sagan Gronauer was 2-for-2 for Faith Lutheran.

Legacy 17, Shadow Ridge 5 — At Shadow Ridge, Anthony Lomeli went 4-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBIs and two runs to lead the Longhorns past the Mustangs in five innings.

Forrest Grevelis was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI, and Johnny Ball was 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs for Legacy.

Dylan Baker and Bryan Trujillo each went 2-for-3 with a run for Shadow Ridge.

Pahrump Valley 4, Eldorado 3 — At Eldorado, the Trojans’ scored four runs in the top of the fourth and held on to top the Sundevils.

Parker Hart went 3-for-4 with a double, Tyler Floyd went 2-for-4, and Joey Koenig went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Pahrump, which trailed 3-0 before the fourth.

Cyle Havel earned the victory, and Raider Maestas got the save for the Trojans.

Eldorado’s Travis Bowe hit a triple, and Kyle Rizzuti hit a double. Jordan Eldred tossed a complete game, allowing eight hits and striking out seven.

Clark 15, Mojave 13 — At Mojave, Matthew Thompson was 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, and Thomas Campbell hit a two-run homer to help the Chargers hold off the Rattlers.

Maverick Blodgett was 3-for-4 and drove in a run for Clark.

Rease McClain had two doubles and four RBIs to lead Mojave.

Scott Wilson was 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Elijah Glaze tripled twice and drove in a run for the Rattlers.

Sierra Vista 7, Arbor View 3 — At Sierra Vista, Cooper Kitrel was 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs and three RBIs as the Mountain Lions defeated the Aggies.

Zachary Kreithe went 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI, and Matt Venderberg was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Sierra Vista.

Nick Lasker added two hits and a run for the Mountain Lions. Hunter Wood allowed a run on five hits in 5 2/3 innings to get the win.

Talon LeBaron was 2-for-4 with a double and a run for Arbor View.

Chaparral 5, Valley 1 — At Chaparral, the Cowboys scored all five runs in the first inning as they defeated the Vikings.

Chaparral’s James Cobian earned the victory and also went 2-for-2. Alfredo Ramirez went 2-for-3 for Chaparral.

Del Sol 13, Desert Pines 3 — At Del Sol, Tyler Foreman tossed a complete game and went 4-for-4 with an RBI, as the Dragons defeated the Jaguars in five innings.

Del Sol’s Mike Hutchinson was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and five RBIs, and Chandler Miller went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for Del Sol.

Desert Pines’ Juan Castaneda went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

Green Valley 15, Sunrise Mountain 4 — At Green Valley, Matt Gilbertson was 2-for-4 with two triples and four RBIs to lead the Gators to the five-inning win over the Miners.

Brandon Bayne was 2-for-3 with a triple, a run and four RBIs, and Austin Primack went 2-for-2 with a double, two runs and two RBIs for Green Valley.

Matt Uran was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs for the Gators, who scored seven runs in the second inning to take an 11-2 lead.

Sunrise Mountian’s Donavan Hansen went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI, and Daltyn Pytrysson was 1-for-3 with a triple, run scored and an RBI for the Miners.

Needles 17-17, Mountain View 1-2 — At Mountain View, Tyler White was 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBIs in the second game as the Mustangs swept the Saints.

Dillon Horn went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs for Needles.

Daniel Reyes was 2-for-2 with two RBIs for Mountain View.

In the opener, Dylan Hetrick was 3-for-3 with a double, homer and two RBIs to lead the Mustangs.

Wnning pitcher Jayden Yeager added a homer and three RBIs, and Reid Shaver and Ryan Dunn each doubled and drove in two runs for Needles.

Laughlin 7-6, Lake Mead 5-13 — At Laughlin, Mitchell Dolinar was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and four RBIs in the second game to help the Eagles split with the Cougars.

Joey Johnson went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs, and Joey Giordano was 2-for-4 with two triples, a run and two RBIs for Lake Mead.

Mark Costolo went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI for the Eagles.

Richard Coulston was 2-for-4 with a double and a run for Laughlin.

In the opener, Austin Coulston was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run and an RBI to lead the Cougars.
